Cover for GOTY 2016 Book 3: Lea and Camilia & 3 Book Boxed Set

Like Isabelle and Grace before her, our Girl of the Year this year Lea Clark will also have 3 books. The first two have already been released (on January 1st), and the 3rd book will be released later this year in March.

Thanks to Scoop Fairy Jenny on AGC, we now have a cover illustration for her 3rd book, titled Lea and Camilia. She has graciously allowed us to share her find here. ^_^

  1. Do you think her dress will be released in March along with this book? Also, have you seen what 18 inch Melody looks like? I love your blog! Thanks for all of your information.

    1. I think it's a really common theme in nearly all the AG books. I recall it in Addy's books and Kirsten's books too. I guess it's a problem AG has identified as common in many girls?

  4. Look! A pretty white GOTY with her ethnic friend!!! >:-(

    1. My thoughts exactly! Why can't Camila be our GOTY? :/

    2. Well, at least we know Lea isn't racist. Maybe next year we will get a doll of a different race for the girl of the year. At least Lea isn't blond! They have wayyy to many blond haired dolls.

    3. Are you kidding me. Lea is as blond as blond can be. What the heck color is her hair if not blond?

Is this friend the native friend that was in the movie scripts? --Jami

    4. Lea's hair is blond in my eyes as well, though I do think she has hair that people will debate out as either dark blond or light brown.

This cover was particularly annoying to me in their use of the GOTY with her dark skinned friend especially after the Grace cover last year. >_<

    5. Well, I read lea ' s book and it describes her hair as light brown. It also is lighter on the book covers, but it's more brown in real life.♡

    6. I understand that for you her hair is brown. When I look at my Lea doll though, I would describe her hair color as dark blond myself.

  5. The building on the cover is the Jewel Box in Forrest Park in St. Louis. https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/parks/parks/Jewel-Box.cfm

    1. Also I read on the table of contents and one chapter says city museum. The city museum is one of ther funniest places in St. Louis here is the link www.citymuseum.org . There is a bus and ferris wheel on the roof

    2. Yes! I've been fortunate enough to visit both of those places. The Jewel Box and Forest Park in general are beautiful, and City Museum was such a riot! I'm glad to see them featuring some of St. Louis' city attractions in the book. :)

    3. I've been to St. Louis many times (including the AG store!!! Lol) and I remember the museum! This book will be fun since I'll probably recognize a lot of places mentioned!

    1. Yes, that is where Jenny found it. It's great you have the capability to find it yourself and I'm glad this post is here for those who don't know where to find it. For them it is a find.

  7. http://conservamome.com/tag/american-girl-doll-giveaway/ looks like Lea will have a crafting book like Grace did

    1. Awesome! The craft books are always so popular I would have been surprised and disappointed if AG didn't make one for Lea. :)

  8. Not that it matters for this particular discussion, but I consider her hair light brown. I've always thought too many people try to play there hair off as blonde just so they can say they are blonde. Then again, I have dark brown hair so what do I know. Lol! I SO would have preferred Camila as GOTY. It's ok though. My daughter has hair Lea's color and really loves her.

    1. I compared Kanani and Marisol (both described as having light brown hair by AG) with Lea, and her hair looks blonde compared to them. Here is the video I made last night if you want to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMnY2GCBWYM

    2. Thanks for the comparison video Miss Midoria! Snow Dogz, I also have Lea standing between Kanani and Rebecca right now, so her hair appears very blond compared to them (just how it appears in my eyes, I'm not implying you're wrong or I disagree with you how view her). I think her hair is a lot like McKenna's in that it's one people can debate over whether it's blond or brown. :)

    3. Thanks for the comparison video! I always love to see them side by side. She does have a lot of beautiful highlights! I really just think the difference is that I define blonde differently than most. A lot of people call my daughter blonde and I think it is light brown now that she has gotten older. I will have to see her in person to make a final judgment really though.

  9. Remember that blue beaded bracelet that was leaked on small dolls in a big world when someone got Lea early? Well I think it goes with her fancy dress that we thought was her Bahia outfit at first, what do you think?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's possible! The fancy outfits usually come with some sort of accessory so it wouldn't be unexpected. :)
