Lea Dressed in Outfits from Other Time Periods

I purchased the Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark but was still waffling on whether I wanted to keep her or not so I ended up doing a Dress Up Gallery for her, just like I did with Maryellen. I put her in over 200 outfits from various time periods to see if I could get a better feel for her looks, and took photos of her in them. Here are the photos for anyone who is curious what "Lea looks like in _______ clothes."

*Do not repost or copy images without written permission.*

*Note: I did not take any photos of Lea in Kaya's outfits due to the deeply religious and personal aspect of her Native American Pow Wow wear. I am not comfortable with having Lea try on Kaya's clothing in a "dress up" sort of manner since she does not represent a Native American character in my mind, specifically Nez Perce.

Which time period/outfits do you think she looks best in?

I'm having a lot of fun doing these dress up galleries, though they are time consuming. It helps me better understand a doll's "character" and features this way. As time allows, I would like to eventually try making a Dress Up Gallery for all my dolls so if there is a particular doll you would especially like to see a Dress Up Gallery for, please let me know. ^_^

P.S. I've decided to keep her! I'm happy with how versatile her looks are and how many outfits look flattering on her to me.

  1. I think Lea looks best in Samantha's clothes. They really suit her, with all the ruffles and hairbows. :)

    1. She reminded me of Sarah Crewe from A Little Princess in Samantha's clothes. ^_^

    2. I thought that too! She's darling in Nellies dress!

    3. I think she looks best in any of the GOTY outfits. She's definitely a modern girl.

  2. Ok, she looks good in everything...I think you just may have convinced me to buy the doll! XD

    1. Hahaha! That's what convinced me to keep her! I love her versatility.

  3. I thought Lea looked good in many outfits, except for Julie's bell bottom outfits and perhaps the oldest era clothing. It probably has more to do with the hair than Lea's face. My daughter wants to see her in the store. I really don't want to for fear I "have to" have her.

    1. She'll be hard to resist! I wasn't planning on getting her myself til I saw her in stores, and even then I wasn't sure I'd keep her til I saw how great she looks in several outfits. :)

  4. I really like her in Josefina's outfits!

  5. Wow! That was a lot of work for you! I love Lea in Felicity's clothes and pretty much any of the pink and/or green outfits. Pastels look pretty on her, so I didn't love her in Julie's clothes. I think she looks better in Grace's Opening Night dress than Grace does!

    1. I was surprised at how much I liked her in Felicity's clothes too. ^_^ The side part doesn't faze me because most of the time the mob cap cover it.

    2. I liked her best in Julie's clothes, GOTY ones, and some of the other historicals

  6. Seems like Lea would make a very good Clara for anyone who has Josefina and would like a sister/friend for her collection. Thanks for the photos!

    1. I was considering that, but I think at the end of the day, her coloring (blond hair and yellow hazel eyes) are just too light for me to believe her as Clara, though she does look wonderful in the outfits. :)

  7. I think Lea looks best in light blue, like Kanani's meet dress. She did look good in Samantha's clothes, and I particularly liked her in Samantha's pink meet dress.

    1. When she was dressed in Samantha's clothes, she reminded me of Sarah Crewe from A Little Princess, which is a point her favor for me. :D

  8. This photo gallery made me like Lea a lot more. I found her kind of boring on the AG site, but she looks really nice in so many of those outfits (I liked her in Samantha's the best). I might have to consider getting her now! Thanks for taking the time to do this.

    1. I also found her lackluster on the AG website, which was why I was waffling over keeping her or not, but now I see she's actually very versatile. ^_^ I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!

  10. Thank you for putting these together! It obviously took a lot of time. The results are amazing! I wasn't impressed with Lea Clark until now. She looked great in every outfit. Maryellen definitely cannot say the same.

    1. Thank you! I also wasn't interested in Lea until I tried her out in different outfits, and I agree that she seems to have more versatility than Maryellen. ^_^

  11. Will you do a dress up gallery with Cecile? She is the doll I wish I had but don't and would like to see what she looks like in other outfits

    1. Yes, I will! It'll take me several months (just because I have so much on my plate right now), but since Cecile is the doll I consider the most beautiful ever (<3), I won't leave her out. :)

    2. Same here. I wasn't interested in her (partially because of her story) until I saw various pictures of her on sites besides AG.
