Welcome to Lissie & Lilly's first ever giveaw-
Lissie: Stop! You're doing our job! We're supposed to present the first, ever, ultimate, ultra amazing, super fantastic, roll a potato down Mount Everest giveaway!
Lilly: Well I don't know if it's near as exciting as you make it sound Lissie.
Lissie: That's what marketing is Lilly! Selling manure as gold!
Lissie: Alright everyone! We're here to tell you today about this one of a kind, super rare, irresistible chance to win a free gift that was a free gift from us!
Lilly: You're confusing people Lissie. Let me explain, our Big Person was-
Lissie: Mad! Foolish! Daft beyond Pluto!
Lilly: -brave enough to attend the release party at the American Girl store for the new Girl of the Year, Grace Thomas. At the store, they were giving out free gifts to the attendees. Our Big Person-
Lissie: Conned the souls off shoes!
Lilly: -was fortunate enough to receive several extra gifts because the people she went with didn't want theirs.
(Apparently they were there for the historicals and thought Grace was the newest member of BeForever.)
Lissie: Don't keep people in suspense Lilly! Let's show them what's in the envelopes!
Lissie: Presenting... A red... modesty skirt for Christmas trees?
Lilly: It's an apron Lissie!
Lilly: See? It has Grace Thomas' logo on the center.
Lissie: Must be awful full of herself to plaster her name everywhere. A logo! At 10 years old!
Lilly: There are two large pockets at the bottom.
Lissie: To hold her ego.
Lissie: We can market better than that Lilly. Let's put them on and show everyone all the things you can do in them!
Lilly: I'm not sure if there are a lot of options Lissie. There's only so much you can do in an apron.
Lissie: That's because you're not thinking dangerous enough! I'll show you!
Lissie: You can wear your apron while boiling scalding hot water to vanquish your enemies!
Lilly: Or use the water to make coffee or tea, preferably in your French press since Grace is visiting France.
Lissie: You can wear it as you play with fire! Literally!
Lilly: Lissie! Get down from there before you get hurt! That's dangerous! You'll give people troublesome notions!
Lissie: Life with an apron is nothing but troublesome notions!
Lilly: How about showing them what the apron is actually used for? To protect your clothes as you make delicious food like Grace does while learning to bake. She even has a mixer just like this!
Lissie: But a better use is to wear it to protect your clothes from stains as you wreck havoc at the American Girl headquarters for not yet creating a doll of color! 13 GotY dolls, and only 1 Latina, 1 half Asian, 1 half Hawaiian, and NOT A SINGLE BLACK DOLL! For shame! Taste my wrath!
Lilly: AHHH!!! Lissie! That's a real knife!!!
Lissie: Of course it is! I can't wreck havoc with plastic! Even if American Girl tries to foil me by producing plastic accessories, I still have our Big Person's Cleaver of Racial Equality!
(I love Grace's collection and think she's a lovely doll, but really AG, it's time to make a doll of color. It's past time.)
Lissie: Now that you've seen some great ways to utilize this apron, you can enter for your chance to win not 1, not 2, but one of 3 aprons we're giving away! Get into mischief L&L style by emulating our style!
Lilly: It's a miracle we demonstrated everything without losing any essential vinyl parts. If you would like a chance to win one of these aprons, please follow the guidelines below to enter, no purchase necessary.
Lissie: Unless you want to. We haven't decided what we're selling, but it'll be a mix of bladderdash and poppycock. Oranges not included.
The giveaway will run from Jan. 5 - Jan. 15 (midnight Central USA time).

Well, what they'd make would depend on the doll, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteMari? She'd make cupcakes, because she thinks that cupcakes are Nature's Perfect Food.
Elyse? She'd steal my mother's recipe for homemade candy and try to make that - and probably make a total mess while she did!
Gracie? Fried chicken! You need a good sturdy apron for fried chicken to protect yourself from grease - doubly so if your body is cloth and you could conceivably catch fire!
Zoƫ? She'd make... hm. She'd probably just wear it to do Science in the kitchen, because Science in the kitchen is cool-beans.
Kanani? She'd make oodles and oodles of cookies to send to all the Cousins.
Caro? Something with the fish she caught, undoubtedly. Sportswoman that she is.
I followed your blog when I set up my new one, and I just followed you on Google +, and...

Take care!
Boom
It sounds like your dolls are going to fight it out if they get an apron! :D I'm confirming I've got your entries down. ^_^
DeleteFabulous story as always. Those girls really make me laugh. I'd love to win one of those aprons so my daughter who adores cooking could make brownies. She loves making brownies with her doll, now Juliet will stay clean would look adorable while wearing the red apron.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
Thank you! It sounds like your daughter has something in common with Grace! I'm confirming I've noted your entry.
DeleteGhost of Grace Future: Wooooo *ghost noises, ghost noises* Mirenithil plans to hand-pick me out when she has a chance to go to an AG store this summer. I've had to use the Tardis to travel back in time to get here for this now. "The Doctor" thought it would be funny if I showed up as the ghost of my future self. I'm confused about how future ghosts even work; I guess it's time to re-read A Christmas Carol. Anyway!
ReplyDeleteI will use my apron to bake with, but it's also good for keeping the evidence of, um, other stuff off your clothes, right? I mmmay have done something in 2019 I will need it for. If something in the future is in the past for you, what tense -do- you use? ...
Hahaha! Future Grace is so ambiguous! Your plans sound most suspicious. :D Confirming I've got you down!
DeleteOh, Lissie. If you ran AG the world would be a much stranger place. Awesome but strange. ;)
ReplyDeleteHrmm. Well, Nani would probably use the apron to appropriate my tiny MLPs. She's sure the ego pocket would be just large enough to smuggle them from my bookcase to her area of doll world.
Pinned: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/55028426672695635/
The ego pockets expand depending on what the user wants to put in them, so I think Nani will find her task a piece of cake. ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entries down Impy!
DeleteWell, Kirsten is the only one who really knows how to cook or bake, although the other girls are usually willing to help out. Kirsten would wear the apron to protect her pure white St. Lucia dress while making her famous St. Lucia buns! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd of course if Kirsten makes St. Lucia buns, Molly and the other girls will help her eat them! :D I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteI think that Lindsey would wear it hanging down her back as a super hero cape.
ReplyDeleteDang it! You took mine! lol! Now I have to think of another :P
DeleteOh wow, that's a fantastic idea! ^_^ Lindsey would look so heroic! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteHahaha Samantha I know you'll come up with something exciting! Can't wait to see what you think of!
DeleteMy Trinity would wear it whilst crafting, to maybe, but only maybe not get glue and paint on her dress, and well with pocketses, they would hold all manner of precious treasures.
ReplyDeletePockets are an excellent place to store treasures! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry.
DeleteMy new Grace doll, who I haven't actually ordered yet, but who will hopefully be arriving all the way from America some time fairly soon would love to wear one of these aprons to make a set of dolly croissants - one of my (her) favourite foods and wonderfully French as well.
ReplyDeleteI also followed your blog
And I have pinned on pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/532058143452462430/
Thank you! I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteMy daughter's doll would likely be making chocolate chip cookies, since that is a favorite thing to do around our house.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorite cookies to eat! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteLittle Gracie will be teaching me some of the baking she learned while staying in Paris and I will show her how to make caramels which are my specialty. Her little apron will be perfect for holding her wooden spoon (essential in candy making) and her doll-sized recipe cards!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pinterest.com/pin/368521181983478143/
Oooo, caramels sound amazing! I'm confirming I have your entries. :)
DeleteMy new grace will make macaroons with the apron on!
ReplyDeleteI'm confirming I have your entry down!
DeleteMy daughter's doll Rosie (#40) would probably just put it on and wear it as an everyday accessory. Right now my daughter has her in the holiday brocade dress, black tights, MG's black and white boots, a white vest, and fingerless gloves. Add an apron and the outfit would be complete!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha your daughter has such a sense of style! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteKirsten might make St Lucia buns. Kit would like the apron since it has her dog's name on it. She would make bread and rolls for the boarders. Great change from doing laundry.
ReplyDeleteDelicious baked goods are always welcome compared to laundry! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteGreat photo story! It was fun reading it. I'd love to win one of the aprons so my granddaughter's doll would look so stylish when the three of us make banana bread. My granddaughter loves bananas! Her doll would look so cute wearing it. Thank you for sponsoring this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun (and delicious) activity to do with your granddaughter and her doll! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteFirst, Sonali will try her small vinyl hand at making macarons. After that, Grandma's shortbread recipe. I of course will be assisting as professional taster ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! You have the best job of all! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteGreat story. My favorite line was from Lissie: pockets big enough to hold her ego. LOL! I'm sure every GOTY qualifies for that comment during their special year. My Saige would like the apron to paint in. For some reason AG did not give her an apron or shirt to protect her clothes while painting.
ReplyDeleteHi Bellajessie! Saige should have have an apron to paint in I'm surprised she didn't have an artist smock of some kind. I'm confirming I have your entry. :)
DeleteI think at first, my dolls would fight over whose apron it was but Grace would ultimately win since her name is on it (once she arrives since I amd still waiting for her to ship). Then they would all cram into their kitchen to start baking cookies, waffles, and cinnamon buns before Grace would teach them how to make tartlettes and macaroons.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I loved the photo story! Kiddie was very entertaining!
Thank you! It sounds like your doll kitchen is going to be filled with delicious foods when Grace arrives! :) I'm confirming I have your entry.
DeleteYour story was a lot of fun to read! Those 2 are quite a pair!
ReplyDeleteMy Felicity would make chocolate chip cookies (yep, when it comes to cooking, she is no longer historic!). Elizabeth would make scones...
I Googled+ your post (Sophie Trahan) and follow you on Google+.
I pinned it on my Pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/370561875564961312/
Hahaha I actually really love both chocolate chip cookies and scones (with lots of clotted cream). ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteI would love to enter! Most of my dollies love baking, so this would be an awesome addition for them, and a lovely surprise!
ReplyDeleteI loved the pictures from your trip to the store! The post was great Lissie and Lily, I loved it, it made me laugh out loud--several times XD
Keep up the great work!
~Lu&SevenLittleDollies
Thank you! I am confirming have your entries down! :)
DeleteAurora would use it as a crafting smock to keep her clothing clean while she paints.
ReplyDelete:) I'm confirming I have your entry down!
DeleteMeli is the one who'd wear the apron (she's my modern girl). She'd wear it for making delicious Albanian pastries and being smug about the fact that Maplelea has a medium-skinned STEM-loving modern character doll and AG doesn't yet. (Meli is a Maplelea Alexi doll.)
ReplyDelete--Ellaweasel from AGC (and occasionally PT)
Oh my, I've never had Albanian cookies before so of course I had to google them! :D I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteI love your pictures and story - thanks for this giveaway! Caroline would wear the apron in my house and she would bake bread for her grandmother!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet of Caroline! :) I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteKorra would have a fabulous time crafting with this apron! Wouldnt want to accidentally sew your outfit into the one you are making! With this apron, all those tufts and pom-poms and ruffles would be safe from the evil clutches of the sewing machine! :)
ReplyDelete~Dynamo Dolls on AGPlaythings
Hahaha what a good use for the apron! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteOh how fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy Grace, who is currently packing her bags for her trip to Indiana from Massachusetts,AKA AG Warehouse , would love to wear a darling red apron while teaching the other girls how to make New England clam chowder, one of her favorite foods for this time of year.
PS
I also shared your page on facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/carolyn.clay.10
Carolyn Sue
Mhhhhmmmm! You're making me hungry Carolyn! New England clam chowder is my favorite soup! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entries down. Thank you for sharing!
DeleteOH, I'm from AG Dollhouse
ReplyDelete(See Above)
I showed this to Clara because she is the doll here that loves to bake. She said she would wear this apron, but not to make French pastries! After jumping on the the counter and shouting ¡Viva Mexico! she rattled off all the things she would make: biscochitos, bunuelos, pastel de tres leches, cuernos de azucar, galletas, and a bunch of other words that I couldn't write down fast enough! If she wins please just send the apron and not that knife!
ReplyDelete~ Kiki
Hahahaha Clara's list is making my stomach grumble! We have a panderia near me with those delicious things and now I'm sorely tempted to go grab some! :) I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteGrace would wear her new apron to make a mess in her Uncle's Patisserie. No, wait, she already did that. She'll wear it to bake tasty treats to sell in Samantha's new Ice Cream Parlor!
ReplyDeleteYes! Cake and ice cream, the ultimate combo! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteUntil Grace, um, graces us with her presence, I'd most likely use it as a craft apron for Saige. That is, if mt daughter doesn't claim it for her dolls first. She would probably use it as an apron in either her human salon or the pet salon.
ReplyDeleteWhy not a human & pet salon? :) I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteMckenna would probably make cookies for her friends!
ReplyDelete~Honey~
Thank you for sharing! :) I'm confirming I have your entries down.

~Honey~
Thank you for offering the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't think any of my modern girls are really into baking (at least not that I'm aware of...) but I bet this would give one of them the excuse.
Does anyone really need an excuse to make delicious sweets? :D I'm confirming I have you entry down.
DeleteCute photostory! I love Lissie and Lilly's dynamic.
ReplyDeleteMy doll would be completely predictable and use the apron while baking cupcakes--perhaps vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing?
Thanks for offering a giveaway and for enabling semi-anonymous comments on your blog--I'm glad I didn't have to create a blogspot account to chime in!
I'm glad the anonymous comments option is working! :) Is the vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing a reflection on the GotY line? XD I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteI use the Name/URL option and just skip adding an URL.
DeleteAs far as the vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing... mayyyyybe. Haha! In my home we'd be more likely to bake cake pops, but my dolls are fans of cupcakes since there's so many cute AG-size cupcakes available.
Oh that's the secret! :D Hahaha thanks for pointing that out to me! I'll be sure to put a note about it for the next giveaway. ^_^
DeleteAre you familiar with takoyaki? It's a Japanese snack that a sphere shape, the size of a cake ball. The first time I made cake balls, I had no idea how to make them that shape so I ended up using my takoyaki maker. XD
http://ep.yimg.com/ay/houserice/large-takoyaki-pan-with-turning-pick-and-oil-brush-3.gif
I'm familiar with takoyaki, but I've never made it before--that would be something fun to try sometime! I've used a cake pop maker before, but I really disliked it--the "crust" of the cake balls were way too thick in relation to the overall cake pops' size; they didn't taste good and so I returned the appliance to the store. How did your takoyaki maker cake pops turn out?
DeleteHave you given them another try since then? They're so easy and the flavor combinations are endless! My favorite is chocolate orange cakepops with dark chocolate coating and white chocolate garnish, but this past Christmas I tried a chocolate mint recipe with white chocolate and a crushed peppermint garnish and it was great, too! I learned how to make cake pops from a friend, but if you want to give it another try without actual cake balls this recipe is very similar to how we do it: http://www.bakerella.com/basic-cake-pops-recipe/ The only change I would make is to say that the styrofoam block is more trouble than it's worth--we used a medium sized bowl filled with rice and covered with plastic wrap (so the rice could still be used later!) to hold our drying cake pops; I'm sure a bowl of beans would work well, too. I'd also recommend only using up to half a container of frosting--more than that always tend to turn into a sticky, not-good mess in our experiences.
Hahaha it didn't turn out very well so I don't recommend using a takoyaki pan. :D The outside was way overcooked. I haven't tried again after that but after hearing your different combinations, I'm tempted to try again. I saved the recipe and I'll check back on your instructions when I do so!
DeleteYou always have the cutest photostories! :)
ReplyDeleteKirsten is my little baker, so she'd probably wear the apron attempt to make cookies as a surprise for the other dolls... a surprise that would promptly be ruined by Kit hijacking the apron for woodworking or painting or greasy typewriter repairs.
Hahaha Kit and Lissie sound like they would get along! Thank you for your kind words! :) I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteMy beautiful Nellie would wear it when she is outside taking photos. I am always telling her to not get her clothes dirty while lying on the grass taking pictures. She would then come inside with some type of bug, rock or frog in the pockets trying to hide them from me. It seems like all my strawberry blondes and red heads like to get into mischief. The Doll Fairy/Madonna
ReplyDeleteHahaha Nellie and Lissie sound like they would get along! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteOur new Addy would wear the apron while we watch reality tv. Those two little pockets are perfect to hold snacks! We wouldn't even have to get up during the commercial breaks!!! https://twitter.com/MaraliGrace/status/552557398586433536
ReplyDeleteOooo congratulations on your new Addy! :D Thank you for sharing, I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteMaggie would wear it while searching the galaxy for extraterrestrials!
ReplyDeleteMaggie may need bigger pockets then! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteIf DD and I received Graces Apron I think DD would dress her Grace in it and teach our other dolls how to make treats.
ReplyDeleteThat will be a fun activity for your daughter and her dolls. :) I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteMaya would probably wear the apron to mix sugar and nitrates! (and steal the matches)
ReplyDeleteLove your photostories by the way!
What better thing to mix with sugar then nitrates? :D Thank you! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteCaroline and Ivy would fight over the apron , then realize they need Dr Who to time warp into a period where they can both share it...like say Paris in 2015 :)
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, if I had Dr. Who, I probably wouldn't need an apron anymore! :D I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteBrianna would make Scottish oatmeal. Not fancy but very filling. Perfect fuel for her next adventure.
ReplyDeleteI definitely looked up Scottish oatmeal as soon as I saw your comment! ^_^ It actually sounds really delicious and healthy, but then again I'm an oatmeal addict. :D I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteMy two modern dolls would fight over this cute apron! Izzie would make colorful rainbow cupcakes, funfetti of course, while Quinn would make her famous chocolate chip cookies. Look! There's even a pocket for her to hide her secret recipe!
ReplyDeleteCupcakes and cookies? Sounds delicious! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteOMG! I love these stories! Everyone is so creative! Marie-Grace will be wearing the apron so she can bake with her great, great, great, grand-daughter, Grace Thomas (once my daughter saves enough to buy her). They time-travel just to do so, of course. : ) I'm sure they will be doing some painting with my daughter as well. Love the pockets! Sharing on FB as well.
ReplyDeleteMarie-Grace looks good for her age! :D I'm confirming I have your entry down!
DeleteKanani will wear it while she is creating something to keep our cat Romeo off her lap!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good plan until they make doll sized lint rollers! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteI, Molly, will use it to help me recruit helpers so we can make lots and lots of mini cupcakes. Lisanne will wear it first, and she is going to make frosting, then I will give it to Emily, and she will wash the dishes.
ReplyDeleteHahaha you've got it all assigned and figured out! :) I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteI LOVED this photostory! Lissie is sooooo funny! Thank you! Let's see...
ReplyDelete1) Amy might wear the apron to protect her clothes while painting a poster in support of #AGDocGotY
2) Phyllis might wear it while serving a friend breakfast in bed for Valentine's Day
3) Shirley might wear it to protect her dress while clearing away winter debris in the garden
4) and of course, any of our several kitchen buddies would wear it while helping us in the kitchen!
What excellent uses! :D I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteJust like at school and in days gone by our dolls would wear the apron to protect their clothes when doing chores. Clothes cost a pretty penny and it is tough doing laundry, hanging clothes out to dry and getting the ironing done.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Amen to the way past time for a dark skinned girl of the year. France has a large native Black population, as well as a lot of Black American ex pats. Grace would have worked as a beautiful dark skinned girl. Wasn't Marisol the first big seller. A good story, that sparked controversy, plus a beautiful doll was an AG gold mine.
I shared here: https://twitter.com/Arsmay7/status/553119588364599296
AG clothes still cost a pretty penny so I can definitely see the apron being put to good use! ^_^ Thank you for sharing. I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteMy daughter would probably come up with all kinds of creative things that her doll would make wearing Grace's apron: apple pie, pizza, cookies...donnyandshelly at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteSounds like a full course meal! ^_^ Thank you for sharing. I'm confirming I have your entries down.
Deletetweeted https://twitter.com/atticgirl76/status/553206712224972800
ReplyDeleteLola's new friend Kenzi would use it as an artist smock-there's no way she'd want to take the risk of ruining her fabulous outfits! And Magda would argue that it's an apron for BAKING NOT PAINTING, and would take it and use it for various baking experiments.
ReplyDeleteSounds like both Kenzi and Magda have very practical uses for an apron! ^_^ Confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteYour pics prompted me to finally see Grace in person. She is gorgeous! We will definitely be adding her to our bunch this year. (If two dolls counts as a bunch, lol.)
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! I'm sure she'll fit right in! ^_^
DeleteYour story is so cute! We would try making croissants and maybe yummy lemon tarts wearing the apron! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious! I'm confirming I have your entry down. ^_^
DeleteMcKenna would make cupcakes to welcome her new goty friend
ReplyDeleteHow kind of McKenna! I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteFelicity: Aye, while boiling my enemies sounds like fun, I would cover myself while riding as well. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhitney: I'd wear it when I help the Disney Animator Toddler girls make chocolate chip cookies. Toddlers sure do make a mess!
Jessa: Uh, I'd use it as a smock when I paint or a cover up when I make sushi.
Samantha: I'd love to wear it while learning to make French goodies, just like Grace!
Molly: I'll use it to keep my shirt from getting too dirty in the Victory Garden in the spring.
Josefina: I use it to keep my camisa from getting animal hair when I take care of pets.
Hahaha! I loved reading all the different responses your dolls had! ^_^ I'm confirming I have your entry down.
DeleteRebecca would use the apron to bake all sorts of treats for her sisters.
ReplyDeleteThat's so generous of Rebecca to bake for her sisters. :) Thank you for following and sharing. I'm confirming I have your entries down.
DeleteNow following GFC (Leela).
ReplyDeleteI posted this here:

Isabelle would probably make chocolate chip cookies as that is my DD5 favorite thing to make. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite cookie to eat! :D Thank you for sharing! I am confirming I have your entries down.

ReplyDeleteSounds delicious! Thank you for sharing! :) I'm confirming I have your entries down.
