Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark's Whole World Collection List & Prices

Here is a list of next year's Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark's collection. ^_^ I did not find this, but the person who did has asked to remain anonymous. Please note, that until AG officially releases these items, nothing is 100% certain. However, I do think the list is from a reliable source, and the person who shared it was also the first person I saw find and share the full size Lea Clark doll stock photo that leaked yesterday (7am in the morning, Central time). It looks like a pretty thorough list, but I do think it's missing a few of the outfits we saw leaked. Once again, I am going to stress please take everything with a grain of salt until AG officially releases it! XD

SLOTH SLOTH SLOTH SLOTH SLOTH

I am *so* excited about the sloth and the turtle! I do not know if these will all be sold separately, or bundled together but I know they want to join the L&L family. :D

I think the Rainforest House will be the big ticket item, and my guess on the price is $500 again or a little less, since Grace's bakery sold well at that price. :/ I do not think the price will be higher than $500.

The fruit stand makes me think of Kanani's shaved ice stand, the ocean kayak set makes me think of Jess' kayak, and the Rainforest House makes me think of an extravagant version of Lanie's camper and Kit's Treehouse. I think they'll be great and fun, but the first impression they give me is not one of uniqueness. 

I hope the Rainforest House is similar to a tree house, only more tropical themed with more play pieces! I would love it if it turned out to be a sort of researcher's bungalow, and came with scientific tools and equipment. ^_^

What do you all think? I am not disappointed by her collection, even if I am disappointed that the doll herself does not look obviously racially mixed. It looks like it will be a fun, exciting collection, even if it does revisit old themes.

Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark Full Sized 18 inch Doll

I take one nap and the secret of the universe leaks! :D Finally, it's what everyone has been waiting for, the leaked official photo of the full sized Lea Clark doll, our Girl of the Year for 2016! Golden Freddy and Breanna sent me the image this afternoon of the stock photo for the doll to see. My advice if you want to frequently refer back to these photos is to save them to you computer. Just in case. ^_~

Disappointed that the print doesn't line up on the dress, even in the stock photos. I was hoping this would be a factory defect problem. Perhaps this is like the upside down cupcakes from Grace's Baking outfit?

Eye comparisons chart between Lea Clark and Truly Me 62 (Medium skin w/ Amber eyes) and Truly Me 44 (Medium skin w/ standard hazel eyes)

It appears she will also have a new style of eyebrows that appear a bit more arched, like they were plucked. 

There is nothing too surprising and there's nothing new to say about my personal feelings regarding her. She looks very similar to the photoshopped image I made of her a while back:

Her eyes appear to be a light/yellow hazel, though I am hoping they might be amber instead. >_<

The bag and outfit we've all seen, but the necklace looks new and I am guessing it is from her accessories. I don't see the pink watch, so perhaps it's not a part of her collection after all.

Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark Book Cover

Earlier today, sparkles29 on AGPT shared the link to an ad for a Scholastic Book Fair, and later in the afternoon Rose on Facebook messaged me about it as well. On the back page of this ad, there was an image of the cover for next year's Girl of the Year Lea Clark book cover and short summary! She has kindly given us permission to share her find here.

Lea Dives In

Short summary: Lea Clark is ready to explore the world, but when fun turns into danger, Lea must find the courage to face adventure head on!

The cover shows GOTY 2016 Lea Clark standing in front of the beach, wearing her meet dress that we saw leaked several months ago. She seems to be wearing a watch (I'm guessing the leaked pink watch from the summer), and holding a camera. Hopefully this is part of her accessories set! In the background, you can see 3 turtles making their way out of the water onto the beach.

My personal feeling is disappointment. She looks like a beautiful girl, but she looks very white to me. That is not a bad thing in itself at all, but it is a disappointment because I was so very much hoping for an obviously, undeniable Girl of the Year character of color since we have not had a full one since Marisol 10 years ago and a mixed character since Kanani 5 years ago. At present, Lea simply looks like a tanned white character to me, though I hope that at least in her stories, she will be racially mixed and that plays a big role in her plot. 

She also appears much older than the 8-12 year old range I envision the characters, but this bothers me less because I felt Grace and Isabelle also looked much older in their illustrations too.

Photos of Girl of the Year 2016/Truly Me Swimsuits on Dolls

Last month, we saw leaked photos of a swimsuit set, including a pink rashguard and yellow swim suit that could potentially be either for next year's Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark, or for the Truly Me line. MissMidoria recently took several photos of her Kanani and Caroline dolls modeling these outfits and kindly sent us the photos to share here. MissMidoria noted that this rashguard naturally sits that high on the waist, which is not very accurate to how real rashguards sit. We are both hoping that this is a manufacturer's defect which caused this outfit to be rejected.

Back View

Non sticky velcro! The rashguard looks longer from the back, but MissMidoria stated that any photos with it looking longer are because she stretched and pulled it down, and snapped the photo before it could ride up again.

The AG logo is on the sleeve.

The print of the fringe matches the print on the rashguard. MissMidoria mentioned that the fringe was from a stiffer fabric and did not seem like it would fray. You can see the AG logo on the side of the top.

The two pieces are very matchy matchy which makes me think they are more likely to be a 2-in-1 Swimsuit set but it could also be one of these is a prototype, or a pick and piece your own outfit thing. 

Because none of these pieces have the Lea Clark ego tag, I am currently leaning towards it being for Truly Me, but only very slightly (almost 50/50) because the print is just so tropical and matches Lea's story and collection very well. It could also be a case of AG matching the modern line to fit the GOTY 2016 line so girls can pick from that line to flesh out Lea's collection.

Although I think the design and style is cute, I am not a fan of neon colors, so for me it is in the "will not buy even if on sale" category.
