Photos of Girl of the Year 2016/Truly Me Swimsuits on Dolls

Last month, we saw leaked photos of a swimsuit set, including a pink rashguard and yellow swim suit that could potentially be either for next year's Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark, or for the Truly Me line. MissMidoria recently took several photos of her Kanani and Caroline dolls modeling these outfits and kindly sent us the photos to share here. Photos of Pink Rashguard on Kanani:

MissMidoria noted that this rashguard naturally sits that high on the waist, which is not very accurate to how real rashguards sit. We are both hoping that this is a manufacturer's defect which caused this outfit to be rejected.

Back View
Non sticky velcro! The rashguard looks longer from the back, but MissMidoria stated that any photos with it looking longer are because she stretched and pulled it down, and snapped the photo before it could ride up again.

The AG logo is on the sleeve.

The side of the top is wrinkled in this photo and the 3rd one because of the wind, not a factory defect.

The print of the fringe matches the print on the rashguard. MissMidoria mentioned that the fringe was from a stiffer fabric and did not seem like it would fray. You can see the AG logo on the side of the top.

The two pieces are very matchy matchy which makes me think they are more likely to be a 2-in-1 Swimsuit set but it could also be one of these is a prototype, or a pick and piece your own outfit thing. 

Because none of these pieces have the Lea Clark ego tag, I am currently leaning towards it being for Truly Me, but only very slightly (almost 50/50) because the print is just so tropical and matches Lea's story and collection very well. It could also be a case of AG matching the modern line to fit the GOTY 2016 line so girls can pick from that line to flesh out Lea's collection.

Although I think the design and style is cute, I am not a fan of neon colors, so for me it is in the "will not buy even if on sale" category.

    I think the colors look great on a beach because they are so vivid, but the fit on the rash guard is so crazy! Why are the bottoms so low?!

      Is the bottoms that are low or the top too short? Either way, the belly gap looks strange to me. :D

      The rash guard could stand to have a bit more length, but the bottoms are too low. Every time I move Kanani around, she ends up mooning me because there isn't enough fabric to keep her covered.

      Hahaha! I guess in the photo it was one of the rare moments where everything aligned and you were able to get the shot quickly before it slid down again.

      Caroline's bikini overall was perfect. Kanani's had issues with both the top and bottom.

      It looks AMAZING on Kanani! Kanani is my beach girl so I'll have to buy this for her! I agree with you to, maybe even one for myself!

      It would be neat if AG made matching human sized ones! I don't think they've ever made matching rashguards before. :)

      The two in one surf swimsuit from 2010-2012 had one, the doll and human one consisted of a two piece bikini, a swim skirt and a blue rashgard! It also looks great on Kanani!

      Thank you for the links! I hadn't realized AG had made matching sets for a rashguard before, but it's really cute. Seeing this now makes me lean even more towards the this must be for Truly Me camp. :)

    Hi Lilly! To say I am excited is an understatement: Another blogger I follow found the first book in the Lea Clark series! She found it on Scholastic Book Booklists, and it features Lea on the cover. The meet outfit we've been talking about is indeed the meet outfit or at least an outfit in her collection, and the book is called Lea Dives In, I believe. it is hard to see if she is mixed race, however.

I saw the image this afternoon but didn't get a chance to post about til I returned home. ^_^ From the blurry cover image, I must say I am disappointed with how she looks. I was really hoping for a more obvious, undeniable racially mixed character, but she looks very much like a tanned white girl. :/

    I am so excited for Lea! I’m excited about her sloth, beach accessories and swimsuit, and her hiking stuff. This is only the second doll I have seen before her release date. I am so excited!
