Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark's Pajamas

Recently a listing on eBay sold for what looks suspiciously like it could be the pajamas from Girl of the Year 2016, Lea Clark's collection. It is possible it could be for the Truly Me line but since it matches the style and pattern of her meet outfit, my guess is it's for GotY 2016 Lea Clark.

*Update 9/9: Fionabridage on AGPT and AGC pointed out that the print on the PJs match the print on the mini doll Lea's meet dress. In light of that, it is most likely this is a prototype and it is possible the final version may be of the same design/style, just made with different fabric.*

Collector's Photos of Lea Clark's Pajamas on Doll:
We were grateful and fortunate the person who purchased the pajamas was gracious enough to send us photos of the pajama set modeled on her doll to share on the blog. She said that the fit of the collar was strange which could be a reason this was rejected from the factory (if it is a factory reject). Also, it doesn't have the Lea Clark ego tag so it's possible this is not for the 2016 GotY, but seeing how well the prints match up, I don't think it is likely.

Comparison image by Fionabrigade from AGPT & AGC showing the print on the fabric for the pants is the same as the print of the mini dress for the mini doll version of Lea Clark. 

I'm personally not a fan at all of this look. >_< I really really really hope this is just a prototype that will go through more edits and revisions. There is a chance it is not from GotY 2016's collection since it doesn't have an ego tag (name tag) as far as I can see, but the pattern and design matches her meet outfit too much that I find it hard believe it's just coincidence.

    Yeah, it definitely seems like it could be a part of Lea's collection, but it is weird that there's no "Lea Clark" tag...
    I personally don't like these pajamas at all. The cat (or whatever it is) looks really weird and creepy :P

      Whoa, the shirt is so ugly! You're right, I hope this is just a prototype. It's hideous! Thanks for posting this, I always find the sneak-peeks helpful(that way I can save up my money!!!! :)

      I agree, the shirt is horrible. I really hope American Girl doesn't release this. If they release this, I won't buy it. It's a shame - the pants are really cute!

    I agree! It is terrible! The picture of the cat on the shirt is so creepy. I really hope it is a reject. Also, why would they make her pajamas look so much like her meet dress?

      I think they're trying to make her whole collection the tribal print/neon color theme so it looks cohesive. :/ I'm not a fan of either so this collection may not tempt me at all.

    I like the shirt, but only for the creepy Cheshire Cat. Other than that, I don't like the pjs at all. -_-

      Hahaha! I'm glad some people do like the creepy cat! I hope it does appeal to the target market and the collection will be a huge success so AG will make more minority GotY characters.

      There is only ONE full minority doll, Marisol, and no one is saying Marisol, Jess, or Kanani have bad clothes.

      I don't know where you saw someone say that. Addy's wardrobe is one of my favorite historical wardrobes because the colors and designs are so bold and unique. The school outfits, both the current BeForever one and the original one were both so stunning and incredibly detailed, as well as historically accurate.

      I don't know if it is supposed to be the Cheshire Cat but it really does look almost exactly like it. XD I don't hate her meet dress, but it's not something I can see my dolls wearing. :/

    I'm sure this prototype because, it has the exact same pattern as the meet dress.(the only thing that don't understand is why they make it look like the meet dress.) A friend told me that the reason why it doesn't have an ego tag is because it is a prototype, but I don't know if that is true.

      I also agree it's very likely a prototype and my guess is the final design of the PJs will be similar but the fabric used will be different.

    I do not like those PJ's at all and I totally cannot see any of my dolls wearing them. The cat is creepy with it's weird grin, but other that that, I like the tribal print. But can't AG make a GOTY have a nightgown? I'd love for GOTY 2017 or 2018 (doesn't that see far away?) to have a nightgown as their pajamas. That would be awesome. :)

      That's a really good observation. I hadn't even thought of it, but none of the GOTY dolls so far have had nightgowns. I guess they're not popular with the target market. I'm glad there are still nightgown options in the BeForever line.

      That's definitely a possibility! Another reason why I'm starting to think this is definitely "prototype" is that we haven't seen any more leaks of this outfit like we have with the others. *fingers crossed final version is appealing!*

    Well, now that Lea's out, I just have to say I'm very relieved this wasn't part of her collection (as far as I can tell). In all honesty, this isn't a very good pair of pajamas... her new ones are much cuter. :]
