Anyways, you take such wonderful beautiful pictures! I bet you could pull this off with a phone camera.
What camera do you use if you don't mind me asking?

    1. Hahaha yes! I changed the date to the year 2020 on the post so it will stay at the top of the blog as the greeting message for visitors. ^_^ (If the blog is *hopefully* still around in 2020, I'll have to change the year up to 2030 I guess!)

I use a Nikon 5100! I have found it light and easy to handle, and great for my first DSLR. :)

  5. I think you meant "covet" and not "covert" in the second paragraph. Love your site and the very valuable information it provides.

There may be a trip to the AG store for me tomorrow to get some of the new Thursday-release items :-)

    1. Thank you so much for pointing that out! :D I just fixed it. I'm horrid with making typos left and right so I'm always grateful when people point them out to me. ^_^ Thank you also for your kind words about the blog! I'll also be going to the store tomorrow to see the new releases. I love seeing them in person!

    5. Hi Pola! I already purchased Lea but I am still debating on whether I will keep her or not. :) I've just posted a photostory a few days ago, and I have another planned soon. ^_^ Thank you for stopping by!

  8. Wow, looking at this picture, the classic and #4 molds are so *similar*!

    1. You know, I typed a whole response on how the two don't look similar at all, but before I hit submit, I relooked at the image and think I see what you mean. The shape of the bottom of the faces seem very similar in that they're both rounded. :) I still think the eyes are super different though, and really define the two molds.

  9. Hi! I discovered your blog recently and I love it.your photostories usually have a great moral to them and that is just so cool. Your dolls are beautiful and as I stated, I love your photostories.I have a suggestion-I think it would be interesting if you posted crafts.I don't know, it's just a thought. Anyways, thanks for being the amazing blogger that you are!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thank you for your kind words and your suggestion! It is definitely a great idea to post crafts. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to work on crafting at this point in my life so I wouldn't be able to do a lot, but if I ever do come across a neat craft, I will be glad to share it! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts and ideas with me!

  11. This is kind of off topic, but I have my best idea on what doll's going to retire next: Rebecca. She wasn't in the newest Canadian magazine. She didn't even get one page or a sentence telling people to view her online. Was she in the American magazine?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's interesting! She was in the US catalog, but Kaya was not, from what I recall, though I'll have to double check. At this point I think any of the dolls could go except for Maryellen. :/

    2. Don't put too much stock in who does and does not appear in the current catalog. Over the years, routinely one or more is left out and has not been retired or sent to the archives. Kirsten and Molly almost never missed a catalog and see where they are.

    3. That's a good point! The catalogs have not always been good indicators of who will be the next to go. :)

  12. Hi! Doy you have any idea of why AG has the Molly, Kristen and Felicity mini dolls again? I know they are special edition, but wondering if the will have the 18'' version of them available again. I'm new in the AG world and I would be more than happy if the first dolls they had would be available again!

    1. Hi Carol! I'm afraid I do not know why AG brought out the Molly, Kirsten, and Felicity mini dolls again. My guess is it is so they will have also have the new all vinyl bodies. As far as I know, there are rumors of an archived doll being released again, the way Samantha was, but I have no actual solid basis for this rumor.

  16. Is it true that Addy is going to be retired. I read it on a blog this morning. The owner listed all the items that are going to be retired in the near future. Do you know if this rumor is true?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There has been no official confirmation from AG that Addy will be next to go, but many fans believe this to be true. If it is financially possible for you, then I would prioritize getting Addy and anything from her collection while you are able. It is possible AG won't announce a retirement until later in the year. Last year, despite months of rumors, AG did not announce Caroline's archival until May.

  17. Okay, thanks. I don't think I'm going to get anything of Addy's though. I prefer to buy pre-1830s as much as possible. But it's really sad that she'd leaving. It was a bit obvious though, seeing as she's been around for 24 years now(???) and that Melody was kind of released to replace her. The blog I read listed the items from AG that will be retired this year and it listed over half of Addy's collection. That was my basis for my assumption that she will be retiring. I'm sad in a way, but now Ag just HAS TO bring out a Beforever that is pre-1900s. (preferable 1700s)

    1. I miss seeing characters from earlier time periods and hope that AG will be able to create more pre-1900s historical characters. Right now though, it seems like their priority is to get their sale numbers up.

  18. Hi Lilly!
I am a devoted fan and wanted to share some information with you. I was recently visited the American Girl store in Orlando and one of the employees there told me that to Bitty Twins were going to be retired! I also received an email from American Girl that said that American Girl is partnering with Megabloks to create Girl of the Year megabloks.
I hope you find this information interesting. I truly do love your blog and read it everyday.

    1. Thank you for thinking of me and sharing what you heard! Yes, the rumors have been circulating since last year that the Bitty Twins are on their way out. You can currently find the GOTY Megablocks at Toys R Us! They are quite cute and seem to be popular. :)
