Name for New Historical This Fall!

The Scoop Fairy Jenny on the AGC forum has discovered that on the Barnes and Noble website, the titles for the Spanish version books of the new historical character to be released this fall are out. She has very kindly allowed us to share her find! According to Barnes & Noble her name is...

Maryellen!

Here are the direct links to the Barnes & Noble bookseller page:

The One and Only: A Maryellen Classic Volume 1

Taking Off: A Maryellen Classic Volume 2

It is assumed the third journey book will be The Sky's The Limit: A Journey with Maryellen

*Note: It is possible the name may change before the character is released.

According to the previous information Jenny shared with us from the Amazon website, the books will be released Aug. 27th and the author is Valerie Tripp.

Thank you very much for finding and sharing this news Jenny! ^_^

    3. I don't think I've ever heard of that before. :) But since those are two of my favorite things, you can't go wrong with them.

  3. Practical confirmation of 50s-60s, then?
If she's AA or like ANYTHING BUT WHITE, I'll certainly get her.
If not, then #31 and her clothes.
Either way, I'm renaming her Louise.

    1. >_< My gut instinct is that she will be representing a white character, based off of her leaked prototype photos and the fact that AG announced a black BeForever doll in 2016. I think they announced it so there would be less backlash with another white BeForever doll and possible another white GotY next year. :(

  5. Thanks for the scoop! Seems like Marie-Grace is getting her name pilfered by these newbies. First GRACE is released and now MARYellen.

  6. Cool! I'm not really fond of the name Maryellen. I like Mary, but not with Ellen.

    1. I haven't met anyone with the name Maryellen, but many people have told me it was apparently a popular name back in the 50s. :)

  7. Oh my goodness, I was just checking the trademarks by AG, and I came across 'AMERICAN BOY'. Does this mean that they are thinking of this in future? Here is the link to one (there are two): https://trademarks.justia.com/855/47/american-boy-85547311.html
    The second one: https://trademarks.justia.com/855/47/american-boy-85547313.html
Now, the status does say "Report Completed Suspension Check - Case Still Suspended", but does that mean it may still happen in future?

    1. Wow, what a super interesting find Callie! Thank you for sharing it with us. It seems like American Girl did toy with the idea of making a boy doll but the idea was scrapped? I'm not certain, that's just my guess. Either way, a really interesting idea!
