New Beforever Mysteries, WellieWishers Books, & Felicity Return?

*Update 8/27/2016: Thank you to @apeekintothepantry on Instagram for confirming that Valerie Tripp said Felicity was 100% coming back at her book signing in New Paltz, New York earlier this year!*

Scoop Fairy Jenny on AGC found some fantastic news yesterday and kindly gave us permission to share it! It seems like there are even more new books to look forward to early next year! There are 3 new Beforever Mysteries (for Melody, Maryellen, and Julie), 3 new WellieWishers stories, and possibly the most unexpected of all, a potential reprinting of the currently archived Felicity's books in the new Beforever 2 book + Journey book format! I've added all of these books to the Master List of Leaked AG Releases! ^_^

I'm always stoked for new books, and I love 3 completely new mysteries are coming out. I'm wondering if Felicity will come out of the archive briefly and a part of me would be thrilled to bits if that happened, as long as she doesn't overstay her time (a little like how I feel Samantha is now). XD

    1. We haven't really received much information about her so I don't really know.

    2. My theory is she is either A. GOTY B. Contemporary character or C. Future Beforever or GOTY character

remember AG takes 3 years to come up with a GOTY and Beforever character. Another thing is they trademark names and sometimes wont use them.

  2. She's probably going to be for 2018. I really hope Felicity comes back!!!

    1. I would like that. A new historical every year can be a little overwhelming. It's more doable if they alternate bringing out an archived doll one year and a new character another year.

  3. I wouldn't mind having Felicity back, at least for a bit. I love that time period, but I don't care for the way she goes behind her parents back to ride Penny.

    1. I actually liked that part of her personality because it seems the most "authentic" to me. There's no such thing as a perfect child/person but it really warmed my heart to her to see her trying to do her best to save something she believed important, and then to have the courage to tell her parents.

    1. Don't get too excited yet! We only know the books will be reprinted in the new format. Still no clue if the doll herself will come back though I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  7. Felicity is the doll who got me started on AG, her book was the first one I ever read. If she came back......I would scream.....then run to the AG store. (Which is an four hours drive away) XD

    1. I'm the same way! Only for me it was Felicity's books that started me on AG and eventually the dolls (of course she was my first). :D If came back I would join you in screaming!

    2. Yes! I loved the books then discovered the dolls! :D

  8. I'd love to see Lissie come back. I've had the hardest time finding clothes for my Lissie, and reprints of her series would be nice. I'm looking forward to the new BeForever mysteries, too. The 20th Century is my main interest historically, so all three of these sound intriguing. :)

    1. I love that the mysteries flesh out these characters a little bit more so I'm looking forward to them a lot!

    2. It would be great simply for your blog for her to come back lol!!!!

  9. The Felicity books are now in the "colonial" and "horse" categories on Amazon. I don't think there's any question at all now whom they belong to.

  10. I wish Kirsten would come back! She hits close to home for me because my relatives traveled to America and went west.

    1. Cecile and Marie-Grace will most likely never come back because all the 'friend' dolls have been retired. If those two were to come back, people would beg for Ivy and Ruthie and for dolls like Melody and Maryellen to have friends. It's simpler to have single dolls.

    2. I'd love to see Kirsten come back! I got her as my first American girl and spent YEARS trying to gain her whole collection, I have it now and I'm happy! If they brought her back I'd be so pleased but un-pleased because they'd butcher my childhood, her stories, her collection and Kirsten herself

  12. It is too bad they retired so many dolls. Kirsten and Molly are two of the original dolls. I still do not understand why they retired any of the dolls.

    1. They retire dolls that been around for awhile to make room for new dolls.

    2. It would be nice if AG rotated the dolls. As Lauren mentioned, they just don't have the room to keep all the dolls in stock constantly.

      Delete
    3. Because Kirsten didn't sell. She was popular when she came out, but was a shelf warmer after that. I ordered something for a friend who had her, about a year before they archived her, and her item came in a burgundy PC box! So if that tells you how her stock did....

  13. I hope Felicity comes back next fall! Some of the first AG books I read were hers.

  14. I will welcome Felicity back, but I'd rather see Kirsten return first since she's been away longer. Anyhow I hope AG will make Felicity's new meet dress available on its own for those of us who already have the doll... I'm just not looking forward to Nanea because Molly was 1940s, & I think one reason Cecile & Marie-Grace didn't sell well was because they shared the 1850s with Kirsten... Oh did someone say new mystery books? I love those! I haven't missed a single one. :D

  16. Yay for Felicity coming back! She is my absolute favorite!

Somebody told me that one of the designers of doll clothes at AG has a Pinterest and has been pinning 18c children's ideas. . . I wonder if anyone has that link? I'd love to follow along with the research aspect of it!

  17. I was looking at the new books on amazon and I noticed there is going to be an AG ultimate guide and a DK sticker book.......?

I really hope they bring back felicity as I always felt the original pleasant company dolls are the best. I just hope they don't change her too much if she is released, as I feel Samantha kind of barged in with a trail of pink...and now she gets 2 full double pages in the catalogue whilst Josephina isn't even there and kaya and addy have to share a double page. Maybe in 10 years they'll have got round to rereleasing Kirsten, Molly and Cécile and Mariegrace... Well, i'll have to keep hanging on 'till then.....:) someday.........

    1. If they re-released her, do you think she would have lined eyebrows? I hope she would:/

    2. Cecile and Marie-Grace will never be re-released because 'friend dolls' no longer exist.

      Delete
    3. awwww... You didn't have to remind me :) I loved those 2 :(

    4. So did I...Two of my all-time favorites!!

    5. Yes, those books are available right now I believe. :) I'm pretty saturated on Samantha's items so I'd love to see the return of a different doll.

  18. I actually went to a book signing last October for Valerie Tripp in Nashville, and I actually asked her if she was working on any new AG books. She said she was writing a few and she was having a meeting with American Girl soon. She said one of her characters could return in the next two years, but couldn't give much more information. Obviously the books she was writing were Wellie Wisher books and she has since had this "meeting" with AG and was able yo say earlier this year that its Felicity who is coming back, and AG probably had to talk about the repackaging of Felicity"s books and get input from her.
