Lissie & Lilly: Episode 23 - Attack of the Vinyl Zombies (Part 2)

Lissie & Lilly: Episode 23 - Attack of the Vinyl Zombies (Part 2)

MG: Oh Cecile, j’ai peur! I am so scared!
Cecile: Shhhh! Do not make a sound Marie-Grace, if they find us, it is all over.
MG: Regarde! Look! Are those… feet? Why are there four of them?
Cecile: Non! It cannot be!

Cecile: RUN MARIE-GRACE! RUN!
MG: Au revoir Cecile!
Cecile: There are no times for goodbyes, we must run!
MG: Mais Cecile, I think I must be out of breath already because I am seeing double.
Cecile: It will be double the trouble if we do not get away, now come on!

Sam: We shall be safe here Lydia Charlotte.
Lydia: Yes, undead dolls never think to check the bathroom, and we will even have water when we need it.
Sam: Oh I do hope all the other girls will be safe! What if… what if we are the only ones left?
Lydia: You must not say that Samantha! Lissie wouldn’t let anything happen to us. We only have to stay strong til our Big Person returns.
Sam: Wait, did you hear that?
Lydia: Hear wha–

Lydia: AUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!
Sam: How could they find us? Are zombie dolls not afraid of rusty eyes? Will nothing stop them???
Lydia: No more questions! Move Samantha, or we’ll never move again!
Sam: Quick, shove them into the porcelain Charybdis and we may buy just enough time to flee!

Lissie: Alright, now here’s the battle plan Lilly. I’m going to go out in a screaming, flaming, magnificent fury and take them down. You hurry and go find our Big Person, or her giant blowtorch.
Lilly: But… our Big Person said that blowtorch is the ultimate weapon against the dangerous crème brulee! Can we really use such a dangerous thing?
Lissie: Look at our situation Lilly! We’re in a worse pickle than crème brulee! If we don’t fight with fire, then all we’ll have left are potatoes, and no one’s ever defeated the undead with satisfying starchy spuds.
Lilly: Oh be careful Lissie!
Lissie: You know I never am! Now get ready… CHARGE!!!!!

Lissie: AROOOOWOGAAAAAAA!!!! Take that you denizens of the undelicious! You pox ridden kidney stones! You inflamed papayas will never take us! Run Lilly! Run!
Lilly: No! Lissie!
Lissie: Don’t look back! Run Lilly! I can take them to Mars and back! Don’t worry about me, just go!
Lilly: Wait for me Lissie! I’ll be right back!

Lilly: Lissie! Lissie! I can’t find the blowtor- NO!

Cecile: Augh! I will fight you! There is only room for one stylish, curly haired doll in this house and it will not be a blond, pink, zombie wearing fashion from 200 years ago!

MG: Aidez-moi! Help me! Even if you destroy me your hair cannot grow as long as mine, o undead one!

Sam: Stay away! *trips* Oomph! I shall never wear sandals during a zombie attack again! Noooo!

Lydia: Ah! How dare you! Release my curls! Why don’t you pull your own, you uncurly copy?

Lissie: Come on then! I’ll take you all to Mars and back! I don’t care if there are two of you, even if there were 500 of you clones, you’ll never take me!!!!!

Lilly: No! Lissie! Samantha! Marie-Grace! Lydia Charlotte!
Lilly: Wait, stop! No! Stay back! Get back! Help! Someone, anyone, help!

Lilly: No…. stop…. Mhmmm… zombies….

Lilly: AHHHH!
Lilly: *breathes heavily* Wa–was that really just a dream? It felt so real! I guess that’s what I get for falling asleep while staring at colons and livers. Gastrointestinal pathology is bad for the psyche...

Lissie: Avast! It’s Lilly! We’ve been looking all over for you!
Lilly: Lissie! Why, what –
Lissie: Look at this giant box that was sitting outside the door! Throw that textbook out the window and let’s open this already! I want to see what glories are inside!

Sam: Sawako Lilly! What happened?
Cecile: Wake up Sawako Lilly!
Lydia: Why did she suddenly faint?
MG: This is bad Lissie!
Lissie: She must have been so overcome with excitement about the box that she fainted! Wake up Lilly! Or we’ll have to open it without you. You wouldn’t that would you?

Stop Lissie! Don't tease a doll in the midst of cramming for a giant GI exam! XD Sawako Lilly's mind is in a delicate state right now and any shock will shake all her hard studied knowledge out! >_<

This was a really fun story to make, and one I had on my mind for a while. Truth be told, I really don't do well with horror in any form because I'm a giant fraidy-cat, but I figured zombie dolls wouldn't be too bad right? :D The idea came last year when AG had one of their insane Jill's Steals and Deals sales, and I purchased one of each of the sale sets. It never really dawned on me just how massive and intimidating a shipment of 6 dolls would look til they arrived on my doorstep.

I thought, "Jeez and doughnuts! I just doubled the L&L crew in one fell swoop! At this rate they'll all take over!" That thought, plus some good old fashioned studying stress jump started this story and gave me a well needed break! It made me laugh when I realized how many blond dolls had arrived in the shipment, because at that point, I still didn't own a single blond doll, and the Julie twins were the cherry on top.

For this story, I also got to try out some photoshopping with Kit's eyes and mouth in the first part, and making it into an animated gif! It didn't seem so strange when I was making it, but once I put all 3 images together in the gif, even I had to confess it creeped me out a little. >_<

We're currently studying the gastrointestinal system right now, which consists of the entire digestive system, from mouth to stool, and it has been our longest course yet, though thankfully, a very interesting course. I have one more big exam for this unit before I pass GI! *^_^*

Thank you all for reading L&L and I hope you all have a lovely week!

Lissie & Lilly: Episode 22 - Attack of the Vinyl Zombies (Part 1)

Lissie & Lilly: Attack of the Vinyl Zombies - Part 1 (Photostory)

Lilly: What do you mean primary biliary cirrhosis is the same as primary biliary cholangitis but that’s different from primary sclerosing cholangitis? What is the difference between cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, and cholangitis? This is just so confusing! My head is hurting from trying to keep these liver disorders organized.

Lilly: Perhaps if I just take a quick nap, I’ll feel more refreshed and can tackle this more efficiently.

Sam: Sawako Lilly!
Lilly: Mhmmmm…. Samantha?
Sam: Come see what Lissie has found!
Lilly: Oh no, I keep telling her we can’t keep the badgers...
Sam: Do come quickly Sawako Lilly, we are all so curious but did not want to open it without you.
Lilly: We’re opening the badger?!?

Lissie: Ahoy off starboard! It’s a Lilly!
Lydia: You found her Samantha!
Lilly: What – what is this? Lissie, you know you can’t just make off with any box you see right?
Cecile: Non Sawako Lilly, this notre boîte, our box! It was in front of our door.
MG: Let us open it! I want to see what is inside!
Lissie: You heard her! Let’s show this packaging who’s in charge here! Forward my stalwart soldiers! Forward for glory and self-satisfying curiosity!

Lilly: *huff huff* I don’t think there is anything in this box other than these white Cheetos.
Lissie: Impossible! We just haven’t dug deep enough!
Cecile: But why would anyone send us a box of white puffs?
Lydia: I agree with Lissie, we probably haven’t dug deep enough.
Lissie: Dig dolls! Dig! Dig as if your non-existent bladders are fit to burst and the sole roll of toilet paper is at the bottom of this box!

MG: Regarde! Look! It is another box!
Sam: Why, there is a face inside!
Lilly: I have a strange feeling about this. Why don’t we close the box up until our Big Person comes back?
Lissie: Bladderdash and daikon mice! We’ve gotten this far, we can’t back off now Lilly! Besides, if some poor person is trapped inside, it’s our duty to set her free!
Lilly: But her face is so… pale…
Lissie: That’s just the reflection off these glaciers of white peanuts. Now hurry everyone! No one was ever saved with hemhaws!

Lydia: My goodness!
Cecile: Who would have ever guessed there were so many of these…. things hidden under all that white foam!
Lissie: Those things are coffins! I’m positive like a hog in mud!
Lilly: Don’t be so macabre Lissie!
MG: Mais Sawako Lilly, there is someone in each box! C'est extrêmement peu naturel, it is very unnatural!
Sam: They are so still. Do you think they are still…. alive?
-KABOOM-

Lissie: Ugggghhhhhhh…. Talk about tectonic plates shifting! Everyone sound off!
Sam: I am here. What happened?
MG: Moi aussie, I am also alright.
Lydia: I am alive, but just barely.
Cecile: Ooof! It knocked the air out of me but I am alive as well.
Lilly: It sounds like we’re all safe, thank goodness. But what was that explosion?
Lissie: Hey! Don’t look at me! I’m not scheduled for world domination til next Tuesday!
Lydia: Well it must have come from somewhere.
Cecile: Oui, Lydia Charlotte is right. Let us get up and clear some of this rubble away. Maybe we can figure out what happened.
Sam: Give me a hand Lissie, this box is on top of me.
Lilly: Um…. You… you all need to see this.

MG: Ahhhh! They are alive?
… … …
Cecile: Why do they not speak?
Lissie: Hello strangers! Welcome to our home! You are in the presence of the most magnificent General Washington and her merry crew! What are your names?
… … … … …
Lilly: I’m getting that bad feeling back again Lissie. Something about them is wrong.
Sam: They just keep staring at us. Why are they so still?
Lydia: What should we do Lissie? I admit I am feeling increasingly uncomfortable.
Lissie: We stare back! I’ve never backed down from a confrontational gaze and I won’t start now! Let’s see how these not-alive-or-dead zombies stand up to my… DEEP VISION BEAAAAAM!

Lydia: AHHHHHH!!!!!!! THEIR EYES CHANGED COLORS!!!!!
Cecile: THEIR MOUTHES TURNED DOWN!!!! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?? VINYL DOES NOT BEND LIKE THAT!
MG: JUST RUN EVERYONE! GET AWAY!
Lissie: Oh you guys are overreacting, they can’t even move.
Lilly: Lissie! Don’t look now but they just stood up!
Sam: They must be chasing us!
Lissie: HAUL CLOTH TUSHIES EVERYONE! THEY’RE COMING!!!

Lilly: *huff huff huff* I think we lost them.
Lissie: But they’ll catch up soon enough. We’ve got to split up and throw them off the track.
Cecile: Marie-Grace and I will go this way. Stay safe mes amies!
Lydia: Come Samantha, we can hide in here.
Sam: Good Idea Lydia Charlotte! Be careful everyone!
Lissie: That leaves you with me Lilly! Now remember everyone, keep quiet and stay hidden! Our Big Person will sort this out if we can just make it til she returns!
Lilly: But Lissie, that’s not for hours yet!
Lissie: We have no choice, and no time! Now come on, in here! Stay strong troops! We’ll survive this apocalypse somehow! They can eat all our limbs but they’ll never eat our fluff!

-To Be Continued-

I will do my best to get part 2 up in 2-3 weeks! No notes until the thrilling conclusion! :D Thank you all for reading! ^_^

Lissie & Lilly: Episode 21 - The Great Compromise

One last short L&L adventure to end the year 2015, or depending on where you are, the first L&L adventure of 2016! ^_^

Lissie & Lilly: The Great Compromise (Photostory)

Cecile: It is such a dreary day, non?
Sam: It certainly is! The sun just cannot make up its mind. One moment it is quite warm, then the next it is freezing.
MG: Oui Samantha, I do not know if I need a jacket or a cold drink.
Lydia: It’s downright confusing is what it is!

Lissie: Enguarde ye villainous blackguards! What is this rebellious murmur of dissent I hear? Are we going to have a brawl today? Do I need to put on my brawl mustache?
Sam: Lissie! We discussed this already, no brawl mustaches in the house. Besides, Sawako Lilly asked for us all to please be quite today. She is studying for the last big exam of the year.
Cecile: Regarde Lissie! Look! We are all feeling let down at the weather.

Lissie: Let down? Impossible! Only 50 daily servings of vegetables should be a let down! Let me have a look.
Lissie: Ah hah!
Lydia: What are you shouting about? I don’t see anything exciting going on.
Lissie: That is because you see but do not see my dear tadpole! For if you did see and see, then you would see that it is a perfect day to go outside for glories galore!
MG: …Could you repeat that? I think you have confused me even more Lissie.
Lissie: No time for confusion! We must away to play! Meet in the kitchen before the cock crows!
Lydia: Lissie! Wait – ! Oh, she’s already left. Now what do we do?
Cecile: We do not have un cock, a rooster, do we?
Sam: Certainly not! Let us all meet down in the kitchen in 5 minutes. That is close enough to the cock crowing.

Cecile: It seems I am the first one here. I hope everyone else hurries! Even if the day is so strange, Lissie is right, we can still have lots of fun playing le basket-ball!
MG: Bonjour Cecile! You are already here! With… a basketball?
Cecile: Eh? What are you carrying Marie-Grace?
MG: I brought the volleyball. I thought it would be fun for everyone to play.
Cecile: Mais, I thought –

Sam: Oh Cecile, Marie-Grace, I see you are both ready. Why, what have you both got there?
Cecile: I have a basketball and Marie-Grace brought a volleyball.
MG: And it looks like you have a tennis racket Samantha.
Sam: Yes, I thought we could get a few volleys in, but –

Lydia: Hello! My goodness, did we all bring different things? I thought croquet would be just the game for a day like this but it seems like everyone has a different idea.
MG: Did Lissie even say what we were going to do outside?
Cecile: Non, you know Lissie, she only shouted glories galore before running off.
Sam: Speaking of which, where is she anyway? Seems she would be the first one here to sort out this confusion.

Lissie: Have no fear! For General Washington is here!
Sam: Oh my goodness! Lissie! Where ever did you find stilts?
MG: Do be careful Lissie! If you fall and hurt yourself, none of us will be able to put you back together.
Lissie: I was never together in the first place so I have nothing to lose! Now tell me troops, what is this discord I hear brewing like a soggy tea bag steeped one too many times?
Cecile: Ecoute, listen Lissie. We cannot decide what to play outside.
Lydia: We all brought different things but there isn’t enough time to play them all so how should be decide what we ought to play?
Cecile: It is facile, simple non? Basketball is such good exercise!
MG: Mais Cecile, we do not even have a hoop. Volleyball would be much better.
Sam: I must disagree my dear Marie-Grace. Tennis would be the greatest exercise for us.
Lydia: But we are not here for exercise, we only want to have fun, and nothing can be more fun and challenging than a good game of croquet.
Lissie: You all have got it wrong, stilts are the only way to go! How else can we tower over all our minions in a vast shower of glory and adulation?
Sam: But there are not enough stilts for all of us Lissie.
Cecile: And I do not want to risk life and limb today. Basketball I say!
Lydia: Croquet!
MG: Non! Volleyball!
Sam: Tennis!

Lilly: QUIET!!!
Lydia: Sawako Lilly, what are you doing here? I thought you were studying for your final exam?
Lilly: Even the dead couldn’t study with all the noise you guys are making out here. What on earth are you all arguing about?
Lissie: We weren’t arguing, we were giving voice to our passions!
MG: We cannot seem to agree on what we should play. Cecile wants to play basketball, Samantha wants to play tennis, Lydia Charlotte wants to play croquet, I want to play volleyball, and Lissie…
Lissie: Give me stilts or give me death! Or chocolate and all the riches in the seven kingdoms!
Lilly: I see. Well, why not play something everyone can join in on? We only have one pair of stilts, one tennis racquet, and one croquet mallet, and we don’t have a hoop for basketball or a net for volleyball.
Sam: What is something that we call can do then?
Lissie: Praise me and bathe me in your flattery til I float to Jupiter on my own self esteem!
Lilly: Why not skating? We have plenty of skates.
Cecile: Bonne idée! Good idea Sawako Lilly! You must take a break and join us.
Lilly: I think I will. I could use a break from memorizing all the diseases of blood.
Lissie: Alright troops! You heard Lilly! Meet back in here with your skates on before the cock crows or she’ll show you blood!
Lilly: Before the cock crows?
Sam: We believe that is Lissie for 5 minutes.

-5 minutes later, before the cock crows-
Lissie: What knavery is this??? You said skating!
Lilly: I did say skating! Ice skating! It’s the middle of winter Lissie.
MG: Mais Sawako Lilly, it is 80 degrees outside. There is no ice to skate on.
Lissie: Unless skating is code for swimming in which case swimming must be code for a secret reconnaissance mission to our Big Person’s pantry to raid her snacks.
Sam: Why, I thought we were going to go to the ice skating rink to skate.
Lydia: I suppose we could, but it would take a rather long time to get there.
Cecile: Aujourd'hui, today is cursed! We will forever be trapped in this limbo!

Lissie: No my minions! I have been defying curses before they even existed!
Lilly: But that doesn’t make sen–
Lissie: Sense warthogs! We don’t need sense or sensibility! We just need blood curdling courage!
MG: Mais, but I do not want my blood to curdle.
Lissie: Iron snapping tenacity!
Sam: My goodness, I have no desire to snap iron though.
Lissie: And all the luck of a snowball rolling down the slopes of Hell itself!
Cecile: Then we are doomed!
Lissie: Doomed means success Cecile! Now let’s go!

Lilly: You’ve had many ideas throughout the years Lissie, but I can’t say this is the best one. Eeeep!
Lissie: Oh bladderdash on rye! Every idea I have in the spur of the moment is my best one.
MG: Cecile, please please please do not tip over!
Cecile: Only if you don’t tip over either Marie-Grace!
Sam: Lissie, I feel this is even more dangerous than ice skating and roller skating combined!
Lydia: Ahhhh! Samantha, we are going to fall!
Lissie: Nonsense! Everyone knows dolls that skate together fall together!
Lilly: Only if they tempt fate by wearing one ice skate and one roller skate.
Lissie: That’s the point! Danger with every step is our motto!
Lilly: That’s your motto Lissie. The rest of us would rather adhere to safety first. Now do stop proclaiming things in such an emphatic way or we’ll lose our balance!
Lissie: You can’t lose what you never had! Onwa–

Everyone: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful girls! XD Don't let Lissie drag you into tomfoolery and mischief just because your Big Person isn't there to stop her!

I was reorganizing the L&L closet when it occurred to me just how many skates (ice and roller) the girls seemed to have accumulated and the idea for this photostory was born. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I finished typing up the photostory and taking all the pictures that it finally dawned upon me how to use Molly's roller skates (worn by Lydia Charlotte), and Kirsten's ice skates (worn by Sawako Lilly). They're supposed to go over shoes, not worn barefoot. XD Well.... live and learn! ^_^

It's still 2015 here as I type this up. Thank you all so much for following and supporting Lissie & Lilly, and all the crazy shenanigans here this past year! We hope you'll continue to visit us in 2016. This has been a crazy year, filled with lots of changes and new experiences for L&L, but nothing would be possible without the kindness of our readers for which we are ever grateful, even Lissie, though she won't admit it. :D

Tomorrow starts 2016 and I'll be up bright and early to see the debut of the 2016 Girl of the Year, Lea Clark, whom we have been following all year it seems. At last, I'll see her in the vinyl for myself! I'll be sure to take many photos which will be posted tomorrow evening, Central Time in the USA for those who would like to see them.

***From all of us at Lissie & Lilly, we hope you have a glorious finish to the year 2015 and a fabulous start to 2016! ^_^ ***

Lissie & Lilly: Episode 20 - It's Dangerous, It's Contagious, It's Collecting

Has it really been so long since I last posted a photostory? Egads! Well here's another chapter in the life of the L&L crew! ^_^

Lissie & Lilly: It's Dangerous, It's Contagious, It's Collecting (Photostory)

Cecile: Heehehe! I am so excited!
Lissie: Ahoy! It’s a Cecile off starboard!
Cecile: Lissie! Lydia Charlotte! What are you two doing?
Lissie: It’s not what we’re doing, but what we’re about to do that you should be intrigued by! Mayhem! Chaos galore! And perhaps a dash of paprika for posterity!
Lydia: I am about the practice my cello, and Lissie said she would come practice with me.
Cecile: Mais Lissie, you cannot play the cello I thought?
Lissie: And that’s why I have sticks to bang on random objects in rhythmic enthusiasm!
Lydia: Did you just get back from shopping Cecile?
Cecile: Oui! I will show you when you two return! Have fun hitting things Lissie!

Cecile: Ahhhh…. Je suis très heureuse! I am so happy! I cannot believe I bought such an expensive doll but she is so beautiful! It was like she was telling me she wanted to come home with me. Definitely worth the price! How could anyone resist such charme? Just look at that smiling expression!

Lilly: She certainly does have a very pleasant face.
Cecile: Ah! Sawako Lilly! You startled me. I did not hear you arrive.
Lilly: I think you were very focused on praising the doll. Isn’t that an American Girl doll? Aren’t they terribly expensive?
Cecile: Oui, c’est cher, it is expensive, but it is not just a doll Sawako Lilly, look!

Cecile: See, the doll herself is made to the highest quality, and on top of that it comes with a book! It is educational, non? You can learn about the doll’s time period in her story.
Lilly: That is very nice, but I can’t imagine that book alone is worth the high price tag.
Cecile: Ah, non, it is the doll! Look at how spirited she looks! I am so… so ecstatic!
Lilly: Well as long as you’re happy, we’ll all be happy for you too.
Cecile: Merci Sawako Lilly, I will let you all read the book.

Cecile: Ah, mon amie, now where shall I put you? Oh, I’ll set the book down here. I am sure I will read it later. But you and I, Ruthie, will have such fun! My heart! How can one feel such joy and such guilt at once? Is this guilty pleasure? It is so… so américain!

The Next Day
Cecile: Bonjour Ruthie! I have returned! And you will not believe this but –

MG: Bonjour Cecile!
Cecile: Marie-Grace! Why did you sneak up on me?
MG: Sneak? Moi? Non Cecile, I saw you sneaking inside so I came to see what you were doing. Is that… Is an American Girl doll? But don’t you already have one?
Cecile: Non! I mean, oui, she is, but let me explain!

Cecile: See, yesterday I bought Ruthie, but she is a historical doll.
MG: But I thought that is good because you can learn history from her?
Cecile: Oui Marie-Grace, but you see, this doll looks just like me! I always wanted a mini me doll.
MG: C’est très jolie, it’s very pretty Cecile, mais are you sure you need two?
Cecile: Of course! I must have at least one historical and one mini me you see?
MG: At least?
Cecile: Do not worry for me, Marie-Grace! I know my limit.
MG: Well as long as you are being responsible and it makes you happy, I am happy for you too.

The Third Day
Cecile: Teehehehe! I made it in without being seen.
Sam: Hello Cecile!
Cecile: AH! Samantha! You gave me a scare! I did not know you were in the parlor.
Sam: Lissie was conducting an experiment comparing her rocket launcher with her medieval catapult army so I came in here to read in quiet. What is that you have with you?

Cecile: Ah Samantha, let me show you, I know you will understand! Regarde!
Sam: Why Cecile! Is that an American Girl doll?
Cecile: Oui! And not just any American Girl doll, it is a Caroline!
Sam: I am afraid I do not understand. Why makes Caroline so special?
Cecile: Because she is being archived! If I do not buy her now I will never be able to, and I know I will have many regrets!
Sam: But if I recall, could you not use eBay? That is where our Big Person buys our things.
Cecile: Non Samantha! I would not be able to pick her out in person. How could I check her wig for thickness? Her eyes to make sure they are even?
Sam: I… see… Well I will let you enjoy your new doll Cecile. I am glad to see you so happy.

Lilly: Oh Samantha! Why are you in the kitchen? I thought you were reading the parlor until Lissie’s path of destruction was over?
Sam: Well I was in the parlor, but Cecile just came home and I thought I would give her some space to enjoy her new doll.
MG: What? A new doll? But she just bought a new doll yesterday!
Lydia: Did she buy one yesterday? Lissie and I saw her come in two days ago with a doll too!
Lilly: Yes, I saw it too! Wait… let’s see, that makes 3 dolls in 3 days!
MG: Mon Dieu, that is a lot of dolls.
Sam: Yes it is Marie-Grace. This can’t continue Sawako Lilly.

Lilly: You’re right Samantha. Cecile is starting on a dangerous path and we’ve got to stop her before it’s too late!
Lydia: I agree, or else her dolls will turn us out of house and home at this rate.
Lilly: Is everyone in agreement then? We’ll talk to Cecile about her dolly buying habits?
Sam, MG, and Lydia: Yes!

Lilly: Cecile? Could we talk with you?
Cecile: Oui, absolutely Sawako Lilly. What is the matter? Why do you all look so serious? Did Lissie break something important?
Sam: I am afraid it is not Lissie this time Cecile. We wanted to talk to you about your dolls.
Lydia: Specifically how quickly you’re acquiring them.
Cecile: Je ne comprends pas! I do not understand! What is wrong with my dolls?
MG: Cecile, do you realize it has only been three days and yet you already have three dolls? Do you not feel it is trop… too excessive?
Cecile: Non! It is not so bad! I do not have a probl–

Lissie: Cecile! I accidentally hit the postman with a bar soap launched from my catapult. He’s unconscious right now, but he dropped this box addressed to you.
Cecile: Lissie! Uh… Non! There is some mistake! That box is not for me!
Lissie: Really? It says Cecile Rey X on it though. Are you being someone else today?
Lilly: Cecile… What is in that giant box?
Cecile: Do not look! It is nothing! Nothing important! Didn’t you have something you were saying to me?
Sam: Yes… something about having too many dolls too soon.
Lydia: And I believe you were saying you do not have a problem, and yet…
MG: Cecile! Say it isn’t so! What is in the box?
Lissie: Oh fuss and fluffy pajama bottoms, just open the box already. If it’s not Cecile’s we can still get it to the postman before he regains conscious.

Cecile: NOOOOOOOO!
Sam: Oh my goodness!
Lydia: Cecile!
Lilly: I can’t believe you bought 4 more dolls!
Lissie: More fodder for the cannon!
MG: Cecile, what do you have to say for yourself?
Cecile: It is not what it looks like! Really! C'est une erreur! This is all a misunderstanding.

Cecile: You see, I wanted everyone to have a doll so we can all play together with them.
Lydia: These… are for us?
Cecile: Oui Lydia Charlotte! Do you like yours?
Lydia: Why, I must admit I do! She has such a lovely face!
MG: Mine looks like me! We even have the same hairstyle!
Sam: Is mine a historical doll?
Cecile: Oui Samantha, because you like to read so I thought you would enjoy her story. Et Lissie, what do you think of yours?
Lissie: Hmmm… she looks like me, she moves like me… but does she launch soap bars at postal workers like me?
Cecile: Sawako Lilly, you have been very quiet. Are you very angry?
Lilly: I only have one question Cecile.
Cecile: Qu'est-ce que c'est? What is it?
Lilly: … Do you think we could go to the American Girl store tomorrow?

Nooooo girls! Don’t give in to the dark side!!! XD Once you fall down the dolly slope there’s no saving yourselves! And your poor Big Person can’t support all of your collections. You’ll have to get part time jobs!

Hahaha! This was a really fun photostory to make, and a little too true to life to be fiction. *looks away* I was gifted Lissie when I was very young and at the time, I thought since she was my favorite character, I wouldn’t need any other doll aside from her. Then several years later as an adult about to enter medical school, I rediscovered her and decided I needed someone more calm and studious to study with me when I started my classes, so Sawako Lilly joined the family.

Perfect, I thought. My favorite historical character, and my favorite modern character! I’m fully content. But then… somehow… when the opportunity came, Samantha appeared on my doorstep. No no no, a trio is just fine, I thought. I’m completely satisfied with a trio.

But then… stupid Jill’s Steals & Deals happened and Cecile & Marie-Grace were gifted to me by a professor who knew how much I loved the dolls. Well, it can’t be helped I thought. After all, Cecile is the most beautiful ever created by AG and both her and Marie-Grace have such unique looks and are both interesting characters. They add such dimension to my L&L family. But really, that’s enough. No more.

UGH! But then a dear friend gifted me the irresistibly talented, beautiful Lydia Charlotte as a congratulations present for successfully finishing my first semester of medical school and I fell, hook line and sinker.

Well… there was no saving me after that. A string of presents, sales, and winning a fantastically generous giveaway by Mirenithil soon doubled, no… actually quintupled my dolly family. >_< And now? Now once again I am going to say I am fully saturated. But of course you all know how this story ends. :D Isn’t that how collecting works?

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading this episode of Lissie and Lilly! It’s always so much fun to make these photostories and see everyone’s comments. ^_^

All L&L Episodes

*Important Note: Originally the title of this episode was "Collecting is Addicting." I liked the rhyming nature of the title, but realized that it could be very crude and insulting to those who truly suffer from addiction. I want to stress that actual addiction is a terrifying force, and a very serious matter, not to be taken in jest. Addiction ruins lives, not just of the person suffering from it, but also their family and others they touch.

As a society, we are quick to place the blame on the individual with addiction, but I firmly believe this is more harmful and breeds hate and misunderstanding. People who suffer from addiction often do not make a choice to "be addicted". For example, many of them are genetically predisposed. Where one beer would not cause the general population any harm, for someone who is genetically predisposed, that one beer opens the gate to an unstoppable, compelling urge which the vast majority will never have to combat.

Addiction can take many forms, to alcohol, to drugs, to food, etc. For an individual with addiction, their mind is not their own, and while that does not excuse their actions, especially if they cause harm to others, it is something everyone should keep in mind when interacting with these individuals. No one wants to be addicted. If you know someone who struggles with addiction please be patient and supportive of their efforts to address their addiction. I know this is just doll blog, but I really hope those who read this take these words to heart. Thank you for reading!*
