Comparison Photos of Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark Mini Doll

Ever since the mini doll for next year's Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark first leaked on eBay over the summer, we've all been desperately curious to find out more about what the doll actually looks like. Yesterday, we were so grateful when the fantastic Lindsey Basham took the time to reach out to us and send us several photos of the Lea mini doll, including comparison photos of the hair and eye colors, to share on the blog so everyone can get a better feel for what the full sized doll will look like.

I think it is quite clear from these images that Lea will most definitely have the medium vinyl coloring. It's hard to tell the face molds with the new mini dolls, but I'm still sticking with the Josefina face mold, though my heart beats in hope we'd see a Sonali, MG, Addy, or completely new face mold. ^_^

Mini Lea's hair is less curly than Rebecca's, and will be layered. It looks dark blond or light brown, with blond highlights.

The eye colors look very similar and I would say it looks like Mini Lea has a lighter hazel. (Are you really going to make *another* variation of hazel AG?)

I think we can safely say her eyes will NOT be blue.

Or perhaps we'll get a new eye color, like we did with Saige? It seems like it's easier for AG to try out different eye colors than to try out different vinyl colors in the GOTY line, unfortunately. :/

You can clearly see the blond highlights. I am guessing the layered hair may cause some difficulties with certain hair styles, but overall the long, soft waves looks very attractive.

I see London, I see France, I see Lea's underpants! And they're bright neon yellow-green, just like all her other bright colored clothing! :D

Lindsey stated that mini Lea's hair color is most similar to the GOTY 2007, Nicki's. It's a little lighter with blond highlights. Here, mini Lea is show in front of a custom doll with a Nicki wig for comparison.

You can see Lea's hair is much lighter with blond highlights, compared to Marisol.

Overall, I do think they will look similar, but since it has been over a decade since Marisol and Jess (who has a similar theme/collection) came out, I don't see this being a deterrent for children, though collectors may not like it as much. :)

After seeing Lindsey's photos, I have a lot of questions swirling through my mind, chief among them is how is AG going to pull off a very white appearing actress in the movie as the medium toned Lea Clark character? Is she racially mixed or not? Will she be getting a new eye color or will AG seriously make yet another variation of hazel? Why do her underpants need to be so blindingly bright? XD

Right now, I'm still on the fence about Lea and the answers to my questions will either tip me for her or relegate her to the "another GOTY" bin for me. I am not expecting any leaks on the full sized doll til at least the end of this month, most likely next month. Although we've had a lot of leaks, it seems like AG is better at cracking down on the full sized doll leaks, but I will do my best to keep you guys posted. ^_^

American Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark's Wardrobe

We have a real treat on L&L today for all of you readers that have been eagerly following all the leaks for next year's Girl of the Year 2016, Lea Clark! One of our readers has Lea's complete leaked wardrobe collection (barring the swimsuits which are still unclear whether they actually are for Lea or the Truly Me line). She has taken a group photo of all of her dolls dressed in Lea's outfits, and generously sent us the photos to share here for everyone to see.

So now that you have all seen the complete leaked collection for our Girl of the Year 2016 Lea Clark, what do you think? Overall, now that I’ve seen everything together, I do think it works very well and is a cohesive wardrobe. I like that the theme is evident (bold colors, tribal prints, tropical climate) and is very different from Grace’s collection which is more European in design. I think there is a good balance of “loud” and “calm” outfits and overall I do feel the collection is a success for me, even if individual pieces may not appeal to me (I’m looking at your Purple Tie Dye Dress/Swimsuit Cover up thing). :D American Girl did a great job creating a fun, exciting collection, and something very different and unique from any of the outfits they have come out with in recent years.

Possible Upcoming Sale for Caroline, MyAG, Bitty, & Girl's Clothing

***Update 11/14/2015***

I finally had time today to look at the URLs of these links carefully and I am almost certain now these are not future sale items. When I look at the URLs of the current AG bundle links, they are very similar. For example, the bundle link for Samantha Doll, Book & Accessories is:

You can see that this bundle set was called 02bun45. I believe the links below, especially to the Caroline items are for old bundle sets that were taken off the main website because the items are sold out. For example, the bundle set that used to be to Caroline's Work Dress & Calf is 02bun07.

Of course, this doesn't mean there is zero chance of these items appearing again and going on sale, but I personally would not bet on it and feel these links are not for future sale sets but old sets that are now discontinued. 

It looks like the season of sales is upon us in full force and AG has another big sale planned in the works. ^_^ These links have been circulating the Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade groups since this afternoon. The prices are not up yet at the time of posting this. I do not know if this will be a 30% Sale, JSD sale (I don't think so), or if this will even be a sale.

Potential Truly Me Valentine's Dress for 2016 Photos

A couple of days ago, an outfit leaked on eBay which appears to be next year's 2016 Valentine Dress for the Truly Me line. Going by the trend from previous years, my guess is this outfit will be released on January 1st, 2016 along with the Girl of the Year 2016 collection (since there are always a few items for the modern line in that release).

Two wonderful fellow collectors sent me photos of the outfit modeled on their dolls to share on the blog.

I think these sandals are adorable and perfect for the holiday!

The shoes Kanani is wearing do not go with this outfit. The dress is made from chiffon with an underskirt.

There is one layer of ruffles across the bodice of the dress.

The shoulder straps look off balanced to me because they are so thin.

This outfit in a couple of eBay auctions has also been paired with these light pink shorts. I do not think the shorts come with the dress since the dress is long enough to cover them. 

It is definitely AG brand though, since it has the tag. Perhaps it's for a separate outfit?

Overall I was not a fan of this outfit from the eBay photos. It looked baby-ish, more suited for the Bitty line than the full sized AGs, but now that I've seen it on a doll, I'm really starting to warm up to the dress. I like the chiffon material and underskirt, which makes it look more grown up girl than baby girl. I'm still not a fan of the overly cutsy print, but the style and design of the dress is lovely. Although I think the heart sandals are really adorable, I do feel maybe this outfit has too many heart, almost to the point of being a costume.

I put this in the "Will buy if on sale" category. :D

Photos of 1960s BeForever Floral Peplum Skirt Outfit on Doll

Last week, we posted about the second potential leaked Floral Peplum Dress outfit for the 1960s BeForever character that American Girl has confirmed will be black and released next year in 2016. Potential names for this character are still very much up for debate (though I personally am rooting for Melody Ellison). ^_^

It was difficult to see the details and lay of the dress from the eBay images so we were so excited when one of our readers let us know she was able to purchase the outfit and wanted to share the photos she took of the outfit on her beautiful #26 doll with us to post here.

This outfit was MADE for #26! The entire outfit is all one piece, which is easier for young children to handle, though I personally wish the underskirt had been a separate piece.

The collector informed me the 2 images below are the most accurate reflection of the dress' true color.

According to our reader who sent us these photos, the material of the dress is very interesting. She described it as "slick" and that it took her by surprise.

A back view of the underskirt with the peplum over skirt hem lifted. You can see that this item does indeed have the American Girl clothes tag on it. I also like the little slit in the back of the underskirt, even if it is hidden by the peplum over skirt. The outfit in my mind is associated with an older girl (older teen) or adult woman, but AG has always been flexible when it came to the age accuracy of their designs so this doesn't surprise me.

The floral print used for the dress is so perfect for the 1960s! It definitely gives off that retro feel for me. ^_^

I am in love with this outfit and I *really* hope it is indeed for the 1960s black BeForever character released next year. I know the style probably would not have been worn by 8-12 year old girls at the time, but it is such a cute, fun, well designed outfit and seeing #26 wear it really cinches the deal for me.

Definitely in the "will absolutely buy" category for me. :D
