Journey Book Cover for 1960s Beforever Melody Ellison

A wonderful fellow AG collector Aurora sent me an illustration a few days ago she received with some promotional material that showed a new picture of our 1960s Beforever character Melody Ellison, to be released this July. It was soon confirmed by Clover-Elf that the illustration is the same as the cover of Melody's Journey Book.

A full list of leaks and information for the 1960s Beforever character Melody Ellison is at the bottom of this post. ^_^

Journey Book Cover:
Title: Music in My Heart
Price: $9.99 USD
Summary: Step into Melody's world of the 1960s! Volunteer with a civil rights group and meet Rosa Parks, sing backup in the Motown recording studio, or take a trip to Canada for the Emancipation Celebration. Choose your own path this multiple-ending story.

This is definitely my favorite illustration of Melody so far, even though all 3 have been exceeding beautiful. I love the personality and spirit in the picture, and those dimples! I'm really trying so hard not to get my hopes up for a new face mold.... but that seems to be a lost cause. My hopes are soaring and soaring past Pluto by now! ^_^

  1. Ah, yes! A new face mold would be cool! I'm trying not to keep my hopes up, either, but I can't help myself.......

    1. Yes! For me it's because in all 3 of her illustrations, her dimples are very pronounced so I keep thinking it has to mean soooomeeeething. :D But I guess we'll see!

  2. I am loving the covers for Melody! <3 But it kind of looks like she's wearing a wig...... okay just me?

    1. I'm personally not getting that feeling, but I'm sure you're not the only one who gets that. ^_^

  3. Lilly, there is a misspelling in the title. It says journy instead of journey. No hate, I love your blog! Just letting you know. :)

  4. I am so excited for Melody! I agree with Anonymous, she looks like she's wearing a wig to me, but she probably isn't LOL. That's why I don't really like the image on AG's website, plus the full image looks much better (I love that she's snapping her fingers, it's really fun looking if that makes sense..)

    1. At least now I know I'm not as crazy as I thought.. lol

    2. The finger snapping is really cute and makes sense with the music theme! Her hair has been straightened for a special occasion, if that makes any difference to how you view the illustration. :)

  6. Racism is wrong. We all should never judge each other by our race, skin color, or anything else. what's inside is what matters. I love that AG is using Melody to teach other girls that racism is wrong. Let's all share the love! <3

    1. I hope this isn't the first time children are learning racism is wrong, through an AG book, and that their families have already taught this to them, but hopefully they will be able to connect and empathize with Melody's character. :)

  7. Love all the book covers for Melody have bee adorable, but I love how fun this one looks! Judging by this she will have a super fun personality!

  8. I think she looks super cute! Does it look like she might have light brown or even hazel eyes in this picture? In the other illustrations, it looks as though she has dark brown eyes, but not in this one.

    1. She looks like she has brown eyes to me. :) I would be incredibly disappointed if it was hazel again.

  9. Oh my dolls ! The more I see of Melody the more I'm excited about her ! I hope she has a new face mold or at least the Sonali mold. Have you read her first book yet ?

    1. Yes! It's incredibly moving and really touched me in a way that few other AG books have. I highly recommend it, if you haven't had a chance to read it yet. You won't be disappointed. :)

  10. I read something on the american girl wiki that melody's 2nd and 3rd book may come out June 23rd.so melody's collection would probally be released as well (p.s this is just a rumor)

    1. That's wonderful! I know the wiki does not post rumors, only facts, so if that is where you saw it, then I'd say it's a good chance that is the release date.
