Photos of 1960s Beforever Melody's Rainbow Play Outfit

We saw this outfit leak on eBay last December, but thanks to the AG's reveal video, we now know it will be part of the 1960s Beforever character, Melody's collection. I am tentatively calling it her Rainbow Play Outfit and I am assuming it will be released with the doll and remainder of her collection later this summer. Below are the eBay auction photos of the outfit.

A full list of links to all the leaks/info/rumors for Melody is at the end of this post.

Original EBay Images:
Front of top and shorts.

The material of the top looks fairly basic. Initially the zig-zag hem and tassels looked strange to me, but they're starting to grow on me. :D

The shorts have an elastic waistband in the back.

Back of top and bottom.

    1. I actually wasn't a big fan of the top at first, but it's really grown on me. :)

  2. Aww it's so cute :)
BTW-have you seen the Lea Clark movie trailer yet? I just did and I really like it :)

    1. This one?

    2. Thank you for the link! It looks very interesting! I think this is the first time they've done a movie different from the books so I'm curious to see how well it will go and if girls will be able to relate to it well.

  3. This outfit is too cute. :D I did not love the top at first either, but the more I look at it, the more I like it! Have an good day. :)

    1. I do think it's something that grows on you once you get used to it. ^_^

  4. It is a little different, but I think it is true to the era! Thanks for the pictures.

    1. That's good to know! I'm not familiar with fashion from that period so wasn't sure if this was a good representation of the styles or now. :)

  5. I really don't care for it at all. It makes me think of the path of continuing lack of quality AG seems to be on now. Disappointing. Sharon

    1. I think AG's quality has been the same since around the mid 2000s, though I confess I do prefer the very detailed sets from the 1990s, even though they were more difficult for small fingers to work.

  6. This looks similar to something my grandma wore as a girl just without the tassels.

    1. That's awesome! I wondered when I first saw the outfit if it was accurate for the times and it's great to hear that it is! :)

  7. OMG, I had an outfit just like that. It might have been exactly like that, except I think the tassels were white.

    1. I'm really surprised and happy to hear so many people tell me they have seen this style outfit before or have owned this type of outfit themselves! I had no idea it was a common style from the 1960s. :D
