Photos of Golden Coat for Melody Modeled on Doll

After the excitement of seeing this beautiful coat leak on eBay and hoping it will be destined for the 1960s Beforever girl Melody to be released later this summer, we were fortunate enough that a fellow collector was able to win the auction for the outfit and share some photos of how it outfit looks modeled on her doll. ^_^ Full list of all leaks/info/rumors for Melody at the bottom of this post.

Collector Photos:

The doll modeling the outfit is Sonali, a best friend character to the GOTY 2009 Chrissa. Like Melody, she has the Sonali face mold, brown eyes, dark vinyl coloring, and dark hair. Melody's hair will be textured, with bangs, a little over shoulder length (shorter than Sonali's hair).

The coat is thick with gold metallic thread in the fabric.

The coat will have working buttons and a discreet snap closure at the collar, which I am glad about. I was not happy with the velcro button strip on Maryellen's cherry play outfit (though I do realize it makes it easier for little fingers). As an adult collector, details like actual buttons are part of what I like about AG! ^_^

The collector who sent me the photos did state the buttons are a little tricky to handle.

Close up of the faux fur hat. It really does look like the white hat that was a part of Samantha's original winter outfit, but I love the design and it suits the coat very well.

There is also matching faux fur around the wrists and the outfit came with small, wrist length gloves.

The thick faux fur collar makes the coat a little awkward/difficult to wear open. The outfit worn underneath the coat is Melody's Peplum dress which will be a part of her release later this summer.

Leaked Gold Dress for Beforever Melody or Truly Me

This lace gold dress popped up on eBay a few weeks ago and appears to be a new outfit, though it's not clear which line it is from. My guess is most likely it is either for the soon to be released 1960s Beforever character Melody, coming later this summer, or the Truly Me line. It looks like it could be a holiday outfit, perhaps released later this year with the fall releases?

For some reason, it reminds me of the coat set we saw appear on eBay. (You can view the photos of the coat here.) I think these two would be cute paired together, and look incredible on Melody, as a Sunday church outfit, or a holiday outfit. ^_^ Full list of all leaks/info/rumors for Melody at the bottom of this post.

It looks like the outfit will come with cream/gold tights, black flats decorated with bows, and a golden hair ribbon/headband.

The color of this dress is more apparent now in this photo, taken in more natural light.

After seeing these additional photos, I am much more attracted to this outfit. :D I'm imagining how stunning this would look on Melody, especially paired with that beautiful coat!

Front of dress

For me, the width of the bows seem a bit wide, or at the very least, it gives me the feeling of "too much". I don't know how snippable these bows will be with a seam ripper, though from the picture it looks like they're all sewn straight down the center.

AG... I love bows as much as anyone, but please... change it up a little! XD

Back of dress

I hope it's the non sticky velcro! I'd hate to see that ribbon or those metallic threads get pulled and snagged to shreds.

At the bottom of the picture, you can just see a tiny corner of the AG tag. Initially I thought this dress had gold lace overlay on the fabric (wishful thinking?) but now I see the gold lace design is woven into the fabric and it's only one layer.

I'm a little conflicted on this dress. My gut says I like it, but the 3 bows on the bodice and the fact the gold thread design is woven into the fabric, not a lace overlay is a bit off putting. I guess I'll have to see it in person modeled on a doll (maybe on Melody with the coat? :D) before I make my final decision, though if it's for the historical line, it's coming here no matter what. ^_^

Potential Leaked Pet for Girl of The Year 2017?

Recently, cdaizybug on AGPT shared the link to this plush puppy that appeared on eBay. It appears to be a golden retriever with a pink rose on a teal collar. Although it is not official if the dog is a prototype pet, or which line the dog will be for, my personal guess is it could be for next year's Girl of the Year 2017. The reason I'm making this assumption is based off the style of the collar, and the body. From the photos, it appears the collar is attached, and the body is fully plush, instead of a hard, pose-able body like the current Truly Me pets.

The other possibilities are for one of the BeForever character, or from the Wellie-Wishers line, set to debut this summer in June, though I would have no idea which BeForever character it could be for, since they all already have their respective pets, and we've already seen Melody's pet terrier Bojangles leak earlier this year. The puppy is definitely adorable and I love his expression. ^_^ I will be curious to see if he really belongs to next year's GOTY 2017!

Now I'm definitely a dog person, but at this point, I'm actually a bit put out at the lack of diversity in AG's pet offerings. >_< Not every child has a dog or horse, and the lack of cats and other pets (goldfish AG.... please!) is really becoming obvious. I don't know if AG has done research and noted that the vast majority of their target market has dogs & horses vs cats and other pets, but surely the difference can't be this significant!

Photos New Outfit for Possibly Beforever Julie

Earlier today, Wickfield shared the link to an eBay auction for what appears to be a potentially new outfit for one of the Beforever girls, possibly Julie. No clues on when it will be released, though my guess is the fall (it seems like there may be a few Beforever girls getting new things in the fall release based off the leaks we've seen so far, though all this is rumor). Since it's a live eBay auction, I won't be posting the link til it is over.

I'm having a hard time picturing how this outfit will work. It looks like a longer tunic top with wide shorts from the pictures. The print is cute and what makes me lean towards the 70s time period. ^_^

I don't know if these purple tights will be going with this outfit or if it was just something the seller threw together with this outfit.

These fuzzy shoes look more like house slippers to me. XD

I have a hard time trying to picture the color coordination of all 4 pieces together, but then again.... 70s fashion has never made much sense to me. Hopefully it'll make more cohesive sense when it's modeled on a doll... :D Thus far, I'm not super impressed with it but I'll be getting it if it is for one of the Beforever girls since I'm a completionist for the historical outfits. ^_^

Photos of Potential Red Dress for Truly Me or Bitty

It seems like after a few dry months with no leaks, we've suddenly gotten quite a flood of them! :D This red polka dot dress appeared on eBay recently and I'm guessing it's for the Truly Me line or Bitty (it's hard to tell from just the photos), possibly part of the fall release, or maybe even next spring for Valentine's day.

I'm not sure how I feel about the bow. O.o I know AG does love their bows, but really AG, just because you turn it 90 degrees doesn't mean we won't notice it's still a bow. XD Also, the elastic at the waist looks strange to me, and is what makes me wonder if this is for the Bitty line instead of the 18 inch Truly Me dolls.

I'm not sure if the shoes actually belong with this outfit. They look like the pair that comes with Samantha's Special Day Dress, but then again.... it's not as if AG has never recycled fashion ideas. ^_~

The sandals are from the Red Hearts Ruffles Outfit, and not part of this outfit.

Overall I think the outfit has the potential to be cute, but to be honest, I'm not really feeling it from these photos (at least not for the 18 inch dolls). It's partly due to how crumpled the fabric looks, and the overall design just doesn't appeal to my aesthetics. I don't foresee this outfit making its way here. ^_^
